NEWS Disney’s CEO Bob Iger and co-chair Dana Walden made the decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel’s show after he planned to double down and go on camera to defend his lie that MAGA voters killed Charlie Kirk rather than "kowtow” to the outrage, Hollywood Reporter reports. They yanked him because they “thought that would fan the flames” as Nexstar and Sinclair affiliates dropped him.
“The advertiser calls began to roll in and then the big affiliate conglomerates, Nexstar and Sinclair, threatened to preempt the show.” This is market reaction, and not tied to FCC chair Brendan Carr’s actions.
Kimmel even planned to double down and not apologize after “Disney employees saw their emails doxxed..some even received death threats.” When “66 of the roughly 200 affiliate stations had said they would” drop him, that’s when Iger and Walden pulled the plug.

Robinson’s mother explained that over the last year or so, Robinson had become more political and had started to lean more to the left – becoming more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented. She stated that Robinson began to date his roommate, a biological male who was transitioning genders. This resulted in several discussions with family members, but especially between Robinson and his father, who have very different political views. In one conversation before the shooting, Robinson mentioned that Charlie Kirk would be holding an event at UVU, which Robinson said was a “stupid venue” for the event. Robinson accused Kirk of spreading hate.
As they discussed the situation, Robinson implied that he was the shooter and stated that he couldn’t go to jail and just wanted to end it. When asked why he did it, Robinson explained there is too much evil and the guy [Charlie Kirk] spreads too much hate. They talked about Robinson turning himself in and convinced Robinson to speak with a family friend who is a retired deputy sheriff. At Robinson’s father’s request, the family friend met with Robinson and his parents and convinced Robinson to turn himself in.
Roommate: Why?
Robinson: Why did I do it?
Roommate: Yeah
Robinson: I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it.

Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger later tweeted about the cancellation, “There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing.”
The incident had echoes of Wednesday’s announcement that ABC was pulling “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” indefinitely in the wake of sharp backlash over Kimmel’s comments about slain right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. The late-night host said during the monologue on his show Monday that Tyler Robinson, the Utah man accused in the shooting death of Kirk, might have been a pro-Trump Republican.

Perhaps...Disney, seeing their plunging in-flow of cash and hemhorraging money with DEI crap like Snow White and Jimmy Kimmel they hatched a plan. Shitcan Kimmel so the libs will boycott Disney and enough of them will cancel their subscriptions to the Disney Channel that they would be free to go back to making money without being burdened by the liberalism/woke crap that has been. there were also apparently panicked calls from advertisers, and the final straw that forced Iger’s hand was when Kimmel refused to Iger’s face to retract his statements, but instead attempt to defend his earlier statements ... Iger is the most powerful entertainment executive in the world, and Kimmel was insane to think he could disobey a boss man like that ...
