Rolling Stone Tries to Reject the Cancel Culture They Once Believed Was Good for Democracy

On June 3, 2020, Emmanuel Cafferty was driving home from his job as an underground line locator for San Diego Gas & Electric, as he always did. On this particular day, he had his left arm hanging out of the window of his work vehicle and cracked his knuckles. Unbeknownst to Cafferty, another motorist snapped a picture and sent it to his employer, claiming Cafferty flashed a "White power" symbol. San Diego Gas & Electric, undoubtedly feeling pressure in the midst of the summer of BLM fired Cafferty. Four months later, Cafferty, who is Mexican, filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission while he struggled to find work. The man who made the accusations later withdrew the complaint and said he never meant to get Cafferty fired.

For years, the American Left pushed the idea of cancel culture. They used it as a tool for political power and social conformity, and would turn even the slightest infraction into a federal case. In the wake of the assassination of conservative Charlie Kirk, some Leftists who celebrated his death on social media were reported to their employers and fired.

Suddenly, Rolling Stone finds that objectionable.

It's up to Kimmel's networks if they want to take him off the air, not MAGA.

Nobody wants anyone fired for criticizing Kirk’s rhetoric. We want people fired for expressing exceedingly evil opinions about Kirk’s death.

They cry censorship but say nothing about his “offensive and insensitive “ remarks. JK went too far over the line. We do need lines to maintain a sense of community.

My theory is that these companies are using the backlash to get rid of incompetent people. Not once do you see co-workers or students outraged these folks are getting $hitcanned.

As to Kimmel’s network, it’d be interesting to know if his show is losing as much money as Colbert’s was. Kimmel’s trash mouth may have been just the excuse they were looking for...

I’m convinced Rolling Stone is CIA Mockingbird media.

Favorable statist/woke and controlled oligarchs have bought up all the bankrupt, failed media organizations with some name recognition for pennies on the dollar.

Even though the internet has killed them, these zombie media names still carry some cache with older boomers, and can still be used for propaganda and agitation purposes, and to stir the political pot, particularly with woke boomer Karens who need this validation from known entities.

Similar to why George Soros is buying up AM radio stations.

The GOP didn’t invent cancel culture but it has sure learned how to use it. I thought it was wrong when they were canceling doctors who criticized the Covid vaccine and it’s wrong even when I agree with the result.

The ratings are way down. They both make about $15 million a year, and Colbert scores higher than Kimmel. Jimmy Fallon also gets paid about that much, and his ratings are worst of all. Worse, he is taking one of the most institutional television programs down with him ("The Tonight Show").

NBC need to have AI watch all of the old Johnny Carson episodes, then renew the program as the AI version complete with CGI Carson, McMahon, and Doc. The new version should be able to learn the wit and humor of Carson and apply it to todays’ guests.

Of course, nothing could beat the original and today’s stars would be offended and triggered.

The American People have finally had enough of the “Cancel Culture” invented by the Left. MAGA has nothing to do with Businesses firing people for their obscene insensitive comments that were made on Company time, or by individuals in a position of leadership. Free Speech has consequences when used incorrectly.

As a regular person, I choose to shun both the individual, or the business, that makes or allows such disgusting comments about someone they don’t like.

"I’m convinced Rolling Stone is CIA Mockingbird media."

As are Salon, The Atlantic, GQ, Esquire, and others.

These outlets write articles that insert a political point that are clearly intended to create 'narratives'.
