A District Attorney dubbed the 'wokest' in the country has launched a new 'soft-on-crime' policy that is set to make her city even more dangerous.
The controversial change introduced by Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty takes effect October 15.
Under the new policy, if police pull someone over for a minor issue like a broken taillight and then find illegal drugs or a gun, the county attorney’s office will no longer press charges.

If that is what it takes to make the people of Minnesota to stop supporting the demonrats, so be it.
Just stupid to ‘elevate’ this.
Making a stop for a broken tail-light should never be “license” to look for drugs/guns.
Auditors love this kind of schtuff.
Know your rights, America.
Moriarty. Fitting.
Minneapolis used to be a beautiful city. But, like any other place ruined by dopey Democrats, it’s become an awful mess.
It doesn't matter if the citizens of Minnesota stop supporting Democrats.
Every major city in the US is locked up by the DNC by voter fraud.
No change in party control of the cities is possible until honest elections are enforced.
She’s augmenting the definition of “probable cause” in order to negate any discoveries made in the process of assessing the scene of a possibly routine violation, for which there would’ve had to have been probable cause established in the first place.
Instead of trying to clean up these Blue cities, Trump ought to say:
“Here’s my phone number. When you are serious about cleaning up your crime, give me a call. In the mean time, I’ll get out of the way while you destroy yourselves.”
Sure, Minneapolis is a full flange democracy now. They don’t need no stinking law. To HELL with the rule of law.
GET RID OF THE STINKING COPS..!

I thought guns were evil in the Dems world ?
Oh, now I see,,,LEGAL guns are EVIL,
ILLEGAL guns are GOOD.
( should have known the Dems think that guns are aokay in the hands of criminals )
This just opened the door for unrestricted drug trafficking in Minne.
They will never stop voting democrat...they’d sooner die. That’s how bad kt is.
Carpet muncher.
As long as voters put up with this crap, no sympathy for them. Just like Chicago. Year after year they vote a corrupt Democrat to run the city and end up in even worse shape then when the new Mayor took over.
I think there’s a middle ground. If you find it as a normal part of pulling someone over, bust’em. If you use a traffic stop as a reason to check the tire bay in the back trunk, inadmissable. They are the state’s roads, and the state needs to do what it can to make them safe for everyone. OTOH, the state has assumed a necessary function, and should not use the resulting dependency to eliminate privacy rights beyond that obligation.
From what I've seen, it's not usually automatic. It starts with the driver refusing to hand over their driver's license or ID themselves. That is often because they have outstanding warrants and are hoping to argue themselves out of it somehow. Then they get arrested for obstruction, and the car gets towed, and that's when the search takes place.
Broken tail lights are not a public safety issue????
