DENVER (KDVR) — A pair of Weld County Sheriff’s Office deputies suffered non-life-threatening injuries on Tuesday after an accident at a shooting range during training.
The sheriff’s office said that at about 3:17 p.m. on Tuesday, agency deputies were participating in firearms training at the Sam Brownlee Training Center located in Carr. The Weld County Sheriff’s Office opened the training center last year.
The sheriff’s office said the accident happened toward the conclusion of training, while deputies were no longer on the firing line. Deputies were securing their gear when one deputy discharged their firearm and injured both themself and another deputy.
Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Further details about how the deputies were injured were not shared by the agency, nor were the identities of the deputies involved.
The sheriff’s office said the incident is now under an active internal investigation and that there is no danger to the public.
Well, I think a deputy who can't keep the booger hook off the bang switch is a danger to the public.
From the article: "... securing their gear when one deputy discharged their firearm and injured both themself and another deputy."
I'd put money on it that it was a Glock and that his finger wasn't on the trigger but that the trigger instead got caught on something while the deputy was securing his gear.
Glock - if the drawing and firing doesn't get you, it's the re-holstering.

P320.

Did Barney ever injure themself?
Quite possibly, but I don't know if a P320 would have waited until after they were done training.
And yet the “experts” are trying to convince Mr. Judgee that the Furby Bum boy was such a good shot that there was no way he could have injured or killed any other than Charlie Kirk and therefore he should not be executed.
Never trust cops with guns...
Definitely need more info.

Well, I’d take that bet. Its like airplane incidents being mostly pilot error. Gun incidents are mostly failure to execute basic safety rules...like keep it pointed in a safe direction and keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
“Well, I’m out! You got any shells over there?”
I was at FrontSite near Vegas for training and they had a police officer nearly shoot herself in the foot.
They kicked her off the range and told her to get more shooting time before she ever came back.
Yea she was a Yogi and didn’t like she was told to leave.
Yeah, why would the government agency share any details with the taxpayers, who fund their paychecks, the food on their tables, their gold plated pensions etc...It's none of their business!
A total misunderstanding. They were demonstrating how not to do gun safety.
Firearms 101. No fuss, no muss and no accidental discharges.
JMO, YMMV
Refusal to use gender terms points to one conclusion.
Time to assign him to the rubber gun squad.
That’s a possibility, but I’m just using Occam’s Razor.
Yeah, that’s my conclusion as well.
