OREM, Utah (KTVX) — The first man arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of Charlie Kirk yelled, “I shot him, now shoot me” immediately after the shooting in an attempt to help the shooter escape, according to newly filed documents.
George Zinn, 71, was taken into custody following the shooting, but he was later cleared on having any direct involvement with the shooting. He was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of justice.
Currently, investigators have a suspect in custody for the shooting. Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested on September 11 after he told a family member that he was the one who shot and killed Charlie Kirk.
According to the affidavit of probable cause that was filed today, immediately after the shooting, Zinn allegedly walked up to a police officer and started yelling, “I shot him, now shoot me.” The officer could not see a weapon in his hands and placed him in handcuffs. The officer asked him where the gun was, and he reportedly said, “I am not going to tell you.”
As he was transported to the UVU Police Department, he allegedly continued to say that he shot Kirk and to just shoot him. At the Police Department, Zinn was advised of his rights and asked for a lawyer.
According to the affidavit, after he asked for a lawyer, without being asked any questions by investigators, he stated that he did not shoot Kirk and that he said he did to draw attention away from the real shooter.
Zinn was later taken to the hospital because of a medical condition, and Zinn reportedly told an officer that he was glad he said he shot the individual so the real suspect could get away. He also said he “wanted to be a martyr for the person who was shot,” according to the probable cause statement.
Is he lying?? But any way you cut it....obstruction at the least.
There are more accomplices than him. When they arrested him his pants were down for some reason. I don’t know why.

Imagine the firestorm of antipolice hatred that would be gunned up if the security people had shot a defenseless, elderly 71 year old.

Is there a time limit after the act when someone cannot be charged as an accomplice? Sounds like this guy is one who decided to be at the last minute.

I’m of the opinion that the whole thing was a setup from the get-go. It was a well-planned hit laid out in advance by these basstids. From the clown jerk in this posting, to the person asking that last question, along with a host of others as hinted by many digital postings prior to the event.
Somewhere, I read that the shooter had $50K sent to him just before the shooting, and in following THAT money trail, it would not be the least bit surprising to find that it likely leads right straight back to some of our better, well-known communist RAT congressdemons. Spit.

Pretty common in arrests where the perp is tackled or is trying to twist out of the cop’s grasp. Sometimes yanking a target’s britches down is also a good way to keep them from running off.
Old guys usually have bellies bigger than their hips and as the butt disappears with age their belts are barely holding their pants up as it is, that’s why some guys qear suspenders.
