Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!

Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
My great grandfather was in a cavalry troop during the Civil War that was led by a drunken officer. With hostile Indians in the vicinity, the troop was afraid they would be massacred and talked great grandfather, a lawyer, into going to Ft Leavenworth and trying to get the officer cashiered. They locked the officer up and ggfather headed out. Someone let the officer out and there was a race. From the military returns, ggfather spent a short time in the jail there while the higher ups worked out the situation. It didn’t affect his career, but I was always amused by the story.
Howdy and thank you radu!

“Jerry, I was with the Cav from nov 67 to nov 68 w A company, 227 assault helicopter battalion. As a helicopter pilot we supported you in the field many times. WELCOME HOME brother. your interview was the one that hit closer to home for me than any other I have watched. thank you.”
“I’m a Nam combat wounded veteran who has experiences that I will not share at this time. Jerry’s eloquent interview moved me through many emotions and some tears at times…. Especially about his father. Watching this video allowed me some healing and I appreciate it. I wish every high schooler could watch it.”
“I’m a Iraq Afghanistan vet and this was something I needed to hear today, God bless you Jerry.”
Good evening radu!

Big work weekend this last weekend, I’m a bit ragged. Yesterday was a 16 hour day outside, kicked my butt. Glad that one is only once a year for one day.
It’s all good!
Hope you have a wonderful week.
Howdy Luvie, and thank you!

Hi, lauren! My pleasure to help out when needed.
Hope you had a restful weekend!
Thanks, Lauren. I always wondered if ggfather ever dined out on that story.
Ugh! Long day but a good one, I hope. Get some good rest!
Howdy, luvie.
Hope you’ve recuperated from two early wake-ups over the weekend. :-)
