Utah has had a lot to handle over the past week with the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk and hunting down his accused assassin.
However, they had another disturbing issue to deal with, reports said on Sunday.
Authorities are now saying that an "incendiary device" had been placed under a news media vehicle near an occupied building in Salt Lake City. It was discovered on Friday. The bomb had been lit, but it failed to function, according to the police. Police stated the device “constituted a significant threat to public safety.”
The police took two men into custody in the case, Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Nasir, 31. Authorities discovered more in a search of a home in Magna.
Neighboring homes were evacuated during the search, which turned up explosives and “explosive-related components,” firearms, illegal narcotics and other paraphernalia, court records say. Authorities say they also found at least two devices that turned out to be hoax weapons of mass destruction.

There has been no mention of a possible motive yet, but being planted under a Fox affiliate vehicle has to make one wonder if it was aimed at Fox News.
The two suspects now face a host of possible charges, including "Threat of Terrorism, Possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Possessing Explosive Devices," according to Fox13.
“FOX 13 News is working closely with law-enforcement and our risk management team, with the safety of our employees as our top priority," said FOX 13 Station Manager Leona Wood.
Police are asking that the men be held without bail.
By the way, earlier I posted about the leftists on CNN saying “both sides of the political spectrum have been victims of political violence” and saying Trump is making it happen by criticizing the Dems.
I found out they count Nancy Pelosi’s husband as a Dem victim along with some state legislator a few years ago.
But not Scalise who almost died and many others including twice for Trump and the death of Charlie Kirk.
Pelosi’s idiot husband may be a grifter and an insider trading con artist but he’s not a vital part of politics like Kirk was.

In Utah these are the classes of people restrictted from owning fire arms etc:
Some people who have committed certain offenses in the past are restricted from possessing, purchasing, transferring and owning dangerous weapons, including firearms under Utah Code § 76-10-503. The following is a list of restricted persons:
Category I Restricted Person – These are people who have been convicted of a violent felony, are on probation or parole for any felony, are on parole from a secure facility, or have been adjudicated delinquent within the last 10 years. If this category offender intentionally or knowingly purchases, transfers, possesses, uses or has in their custody a firearm, they are guilty of a second degree felony. Any other dangerous weapon is a third degree felony.
Category II Restricted Person – This category applies to those who have been convicted of or are under indictment for a felony, have been adjudicated delinquent within the last seven years, are unlawful users of controlled substances, have been found not guilty due to insanity for a felony, have been found mentally incompetent to stand trial, have been adjudicated as mentally defective, is an illegal alien, have been dishonorably discharged, or have renounced United States citizenship. If this category offender purchases, uses, transfers, possesses, or has in their control a firearm, they are guilty of a third degree felony. Any other dangerous weapon is a class A misdemeanor.
