Sub-titled, “Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life,” Kirk’s book addresses the historical significance of the Biblical day of rest, and offers an argument into why it’s more important than ever to observe it. In a brief description online, the conservative author and outspoken Christian positions the Sabbath as a “radical act of resistance” in a society “dominated by screens and constant noise.”
As the book title suggests, “Stop in the Name of God” aims to show readers how “honoring the Sabbath restores balance, reduces anxiety, and nourishes your soul.”
Kirk’s upcoming book is available for pre-order now on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. On Amazon, “Stop in the Name of God” has already hit number one on the retailer’s Christian book charts, as well as its religion and spirituality charts (as of this writing).

Rolling Stones promoting it says something different.
Almost like they are trying to say he is a zealot or zionist.
As an occasionally observant Jew, I did manage to not work for money on Shabbat.
But that’s as far as I got. There are a ton of other restrictions I totally blew through.
Worked plenty of Sundays, though.
Tonite the Bible sabbath begins at sundown. After one of the worse weeks in years...we will turn off the TV and shut out the noise. We will light candles and pray and have fellowship dinner. We will actually commune with each other and with God.
In the morning we will prepare for church. We are Protestant Seventh day Adventists. We will attend church then have a fellowship lunch afterwards.
Then perhaps a long walk and fellowship with our Creator who is Jesus Christ the Lord of the Sabbath. Finally, as the sun sets on a very bad week.....we will close the Sabbath prayer and song and ask the Lord to bless the world, all people and to bring us closer to him as he prepares a people for his soon return.
And then Holy time...a literal 24 hour period that Jesus pronounced holy at creation will end. And we will be closer to our Lord......Jesus Christ. Because the Sabbath was made for man.....Mark 2:27.
May you all have a blessed weekend whether you go to church on Sabbath or Sunday or don’t go to church at all. Because salvation is not found in a church or by keeping any of God’s commandments including the Sabbath.
Salvation is found in a person.....Jesus Only. And obeying him is the result of salvation...a loving response to being saved from eternal separation from him who made me and then redeemed me. God bless you all as we close one of the worse weeks in years.
Charlie Kirk died for the truth about God and I don’t mean the Sabbath. He died for the truth about a God ....Jesus Christ who loves us all. And Charlie called sin by its right name. He was a big voice for God.
Let us all be inspired to carry on what he was doing. Amen.
Amen
Meh, Christ and the apostles worked on the sabbath- though not exactly for money, but they did things that were considered ‘off limits’ to ‘religious folks of the day’ (ie the pharisees and Sadducee’s)
And there it is. The glory of God in the whole story.
Christ’s “work” was His godly mission, not anything near any kind of “work” of anyone else. You could say he was like a “pastor” 24/7/365, and there is nothing against the Sabbath to be pastoring on the Sabbath. I think it’s sacrilege to make that out to be “work” in any general sense.
he and disciples ‘gathered food’ on the sabbath which the pharisees and jewish leaders condemned
12 At that time Jesus went through the wheat fields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry so they were picking heads of wheat and eating them. 2 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “Look, your disciples are breaking the Sabbath law.”
3 But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and those with him were hungry? 4 He went into God’s house and broke the law by eating the bread of the presence, which only the priests were allowed to eat.
5 Or haven’t you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple treat the Sabbath as any other day and are still innocent?
6 But I tell you that something greater than the temple is here. 7 If you had known what this means, I want mercy and not sacrifice,[a] you wouldn’t have condemned the innocent. 8 The Human One[b] is Lord of the Sabbath.”
the pharisees considered that work- and there was a law against it- I was not commenting on Chris’s healing ministry- so easy with the ‘sacrilegious’ accusation
as well, Jesus confronted the pharisees who accused him of working on the sabbath, and specifically told them
“My Father is working until now, and I too am working”
So even he stated he worked by healing on the sabbath and that it was ok-
Brother, Jesus threw out the bathwater of the Sabbath.....but never the baby. He declared it holy time back in Genesis and said it was made for man. Mark 2:27.
But that being said......I wish nothing but the best for you. And I’m sure we agree Jesus Christ is the one who saves us. Salvation is found in him.
And even if we disagree.....I can still respect you and pronounce upon you......a very blessed Sabbath that begins soon. May God bless you and your family.
dont get me wrong- i think it’s very important to set aside time with the Lord- I just don’t think that the way the pharisees observed the sabbath is right- and Jesus as much as said so- pointing out their hypocrisy- actually- sure, they followed rules, but their hearts were far from Godly-
Agree brother. Jesus pointed out the hyprocrisy of the Pharisees. In fact the Sabbath was so important to Jesus, he went out of his way to restore it’s true meaning. He didn’t do that with any other of the 10 commandments as much.
Because in the 10 commandments, the great moral law, the Sabbath is in the heart because it establishes his authority to set and define the moral law. The commandment reveals him as Lord God Creator of heaven and earth.
So in the 10 commandments we see the seal of his authority.....like a Presidential seal. Name, title, Juridiction. Lord , God, Creator of heaven and earth.
The creator sets the rules and are not subject to discussion. He set them by fiat.
The Sabbath is a very deep and beautiful subject and I think Charlie Kirk like so many others discovered it’s true meaning and purpose.
And we can disagree brother.......because at the end of the day....we are Brothers in Christ. God bless you.
Just wondering if any Evangelicals have accused Kirk of being a cultist? He kept the 7th-day-Sabbath, so he must have been one, right? Can hardly wait for his book to come out.

Good question. I didn’t think of that. Yes, I am buying the book too. I do pray for our evangelical and Catholic brothers and sisters and for the world. This was a horrible week. One of the worse I can remember. So much hate and violence. Is it no wonder this happens when the world forgets the weekly holy day?
Somebody said when the weekly holy day goes, the church goes and when the church goes, the family goes and when the family goes society goes and the demons rule
The demons are ruling.
Amen........Sabbath blessings brother.
