Charlie Kirk on X: "Assassination culture is spreading on the Left..."

Assassination culture is spreading on the left. Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump.

In California, activists are naming ballot measures after Luigi Mangione.

The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response.

This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb.

And those celebrating on social media today continue to reflect this. Not even a step back "oops...this actually happened...and I don't like it" with reality staring them in their face. Nope, just happy emojis in celebration and saying things like "he felt the same thing his words caused others when the bullet hit his neck", "had it coming", etc.

The Left doesn’t have a culture. It has a demonic spirit.

Lazamataz started this threadCharlie Kirk's Murder: My Reaction that had this excellent reference:

The Wrath of The Awakened Saxon

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy — willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

Rudyard Kipling

I suggest you take a trip over to read Laz's thread on this. Well worth the comments.

That was prescient of him. Unfortunately, he was a victim.

That is NOT Kipling. That is the opposite of Kipling, formulated by neo-Nazis to claim his true meaning. This is the original:

The Beginnings

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.

Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.

Then let us respond in kind:

“Give blow for blow, scorn for scorn, doom for doom - with compound interest liberally added thereunto! Eye for eyes, tooth for tooth, aye four-fold, a hundred-fold! Make yourself a Terror to your adversary, and when he goeth his way, he will possess much additional wisdom to ruminate over. “

Charlie Kirk was politically brilliant and openly invited debate and the welcomed the exchange of ideas with all comers. In that regard, he was the left's best friend as he freely gave them a platform to present, promote and defend their ideas.

May the leftist bastards rue this day forever. It is they who have openly announced that the time for debate is over.

Not Kipling? I always thought it was. Admittedly, I am not as up on Kipling as I might be.

You maintain the text you posted is the correct verbiage? I never heard anything about Neo-Nazis on this, but is it possible it is just some kind of mistake in the translation between German and English? (The key being the words “English” and “Saxon”)

I don’t have enough depth of knowledge of Kipling’s work to feel any true embarrassment at my error!

(I pinged Laz on this too!)

Yes, I maintain the material I quoted is the original, as you can see from this link to Project Gutenburg: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/13085/13085-h/13085-h.htm#page443

This is the text from Kipling’s “A Diversity of Creatures”, 1917.

Neo-Nazi sites began circulating their version back in the early 2000s as I recall, but that is only personal experience and qualifies as little more as hearsay coming from me since I have no desire to track down WAR and their like again.

I see the version you posted here frequently, unfortunately. Please, I beg, do not consider this any form of a personal attack or the like; I adore Kipling and consider this more of a reclamation of his original work in the eye of a public rapidly closing.

Oh, I in no way took it as a personal attack! I was a bit abashed, but it was out of ignorance.

Now, I too am educated on this bit and can tamp it down when I see it, so...thank you!

Charlie was right on this.

However, the greatest leap forward in “assassination culture” and publicly approved violent protests occurred during Trumps first term in the summer of 2020. Perhaps one could forgive him for not doing anything to stop it since it was such a new phenomena and Covid was happening.

There is no excuse to allow it to continue.

I want EVERYONE who engages in violent or unsanctioned protests to be locked up for the maximum time allowed by law. I want the organizers to be convicted under RICO laws. I want judges who fail to enforce the law to be thrown in jail or impeached or sued.

This is a time that calls for drastic measures. I hope Trump is up to the task. Judging by his first term, he likely isn’t.
