President Trump said Tuesday that he’ll expand his use of the National Guard to an additional city to help combat crime and unrest, adding that an announcement could be imminent.
“We’re going to be announcing another city that we’re going to very shortly, working it out with the governor of a certain state [who] would love us to be there and the mayor of a certain city,” Mr. Trump told reporters.
“We’ll announce it probably tomorrow and it’s going to be something we will do like we did here,” Mr. Trump said, referencing his deployment of the National Guard to Washington to curb violent crime in the city.
Mr. Trump declined to identify the city where he might dispatch the National Guard, but in the past has referenced Baltimore, Chicago and Portland as potential places to ramp up enforcement.
However, it is unlikely any of those cities because their mayors and governors have vehemently opposed the use of the National Guard.
Lawmakers from Louisiana, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican, have suggested New Orleans was an ideal candidate for the National Guard. It’s a blue island in a heavily red state. Louisiana’s Gov. Jeff Landry, is a Republican.
So far, Mr. Trump has dispatched the National Guard to two cities, Los Angeles and Washington. D.C.

New Orleans has crime and governmental corruption.
Cleaning up the criminals will just leave the government thugs the whole area to abuse, without competition.

I agree. I think Trump and his team are doing this strategically.
Trump should only send troops to Red States with blue cities and stop the crime there.
He can then point to his successes and tell the long suffering residents of Blue States: “I can’t save you unless I am invited by your politicians. If you want be safe again, elect Republicans”.

Governor Bill Lee (R) would likely approve.
Memphis Mayor Paul Young (D) would likely not be happy about this at all.
Plus, Trump would shake the allegations of only targeting blue states. There's plenty of cesspools in red states, little blue islands run like Congolese warlord kleptocracies.
New Orleans, Miami, Tampa, Memphis, are all in red states.
Like Tampa, Orlando, and Miami, Florida.
Looking forward to see which corrupt, crime-ridden, RAT run city will be next.
This may be a little long, but why do we need Military to do what the local police should be doing?
I have two possibility, Military is not unionized and Swat teams don’t have the same strict rules the military has.
If you violate the UCMJ in the military you’re screwed!
If you are an over Zealous cop, rarely nothing serious happens to you.
There is another issue. Police are not designed to prevent crime, just mess with “criminals” after the crime was committed.
Military is designed to prevent, not punish.

All good fun to make local policing federal and falling under the president who can override local control. But it won’t be so fun when a Newsome, or Biden declares a republican state to be a target and send in the military to start operating gun checkpoints etc.
DC is federal so that’s fine. But these others are questionable and bad in the long run.

The white lefties out here who have been protesting ICE raids, will now have a new protest platform to further embarrass themselves.
It’ll also draw out antifa, they’ll start doing stupid stuff which should provide plenty of arrests and intelligence gathering on the communist network operating out of Portland.

Have been in DC for 3 days, saw 2 National Guard guys in the metro system, none on the street. One guy had a sidearm that was it.
