Only 22,000 jobs were added in August while unemployment reached a near-four-year high, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The unemployment rate rose from 4.2% to 4.3% last month, CNN reported.

The data represents the first jobs report after President Donald Trump fired former BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer last month, hours after she published a weak jobs report partly based on steep downward revisions for May and June.

Well--at least they can't say the administration cooked the numbers.

We don’t need all these expensive “slave laborers” and their extended families anymore. Send them home. Newscum can start his own marijuana farms and pay the “farmers” himself.

That’s for sure. The numbers would have been way worse without the deportations and border crackdown

The state with the highest unemployment rate is California at 5.5%!

Followed by Michigan at 5.3% and then Ohio at 5%. They also throw Puerto Rico in there - they’re at 5.5%, too.

South Dakota is kicking butt at 1.9% unemployment, but I think there are 4 people and 3 jobs there? LOL! ;)

"wages are way up- close to 4% higher"

Good news indeed, but also an incentive for companies not to hire to preserve margins.

There’s “help wanted” signs all over the place where I am. They just won’t pay a starting salary of 100k to sit behind a desk and play on your cell phone like all the snowflakes were promised.

I remember when getting the unemployment level down to 4.5% was considered “unatainable” because of “structural” unemployment.

Unemployment under 4.5% is pretty good.

I love it. This mean our government is getting smaller. A smaller government means future prosperity for the American people is just around the corner.

Leeches will now have to leech off of each other. What a sight to behold soon.

Much due to illegals deporting and slower growth in the federal labor force. And blue-state socialism is continuing to destroy jobs well after Trump’s election.

Are you referring to the revised numbers that will come later? ?

Because in this report, the revisions to the June and July numbers are the real news here.

For June and July together, 21,000 jobs lower than previously reported. For June, it was revised down by 27,000 (!) to -13,000.

Yikes
