At Labor Day rallies, speakers decry Trump

Thousands of union members and others participated in marches, rallies and picnics on Labor Day throughout the Los Angeles region and across the country on Monday, decrying actions by the Trump administration that they say weaken unions and harm workers while strengthening and emboldening major corporations and the wealthy.

A White House proclamation Monday said President Trump’s actions are “reversing decades of neglect and finally putting American Workers first” by rewriting tax laws and creating a better economic climate for businesses.

His critics say he is undermining, in historic ways, the government and labor-union infrastructure established to protect workers — and therefore hurting individual workers.

Participants at a massive Wilmington rally and parade — organized by the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor — united over a common foe: Trump.

“Donald Trump has gone too far,” said state Sen. Maria Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles), as she and others linked typical Labor Day rhetoric directly to immigration raids. “On this Labor Day, we have an American president who takes parents from their children and workers from their jobs.”

The raids are no longer about border security, Durazo said, but “about breaking the backbone of our economy and terrorizing families.”

”Fighting for workers’ rights means fighting for immigrant rights,” said Angelica Salas, the executive director of the immigrant advocacy group CHIRLA.

The Trump administration, meanwhile, marked Labor Day by extolling the American worker and calling attention to new trade policies — including widespread tariffs — intended to spur a return of manufacturing to the United States.

“Every day, my Administration is restoring the dignity of labor and putting the American worker first,” Trump said in a Labor Day proclamation. “We are making it easier to buy American and hire American, breathing new life into our manufacturing cities, and securing fair trade deals that...

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Even that Commie Franklin Delano Roosevelt opposed public sector unions.

Labor Day isn’t about government workers anyway, is it?

True.

And we all should remember the labor union bosses are in bed with the leftists and shovel millions of dollars of dues money as “education” (meaning campaign contributions) only to the Dems, while a substantial number of actual workers are for Trump.

However, the UAW boss....

“UAW President Shawn Fain has praised tariffs against foreign automakers, viewing them as a tool to end “free trade disasters” that have devastated American manufacturing and to incentivize automakers to reinvest in the U.S. and create good union jobs. He has supported targeted tariffs on auto manufacturing to bring jobs back while criticizing overall tariffs as reckless.”

Few years back, I had to sit in on a union job on the plumbing side of things (licensed fuel systems installer TX). Not sure why a journeyman union plumber could not go take the course and test (maybe TX regs?)

Anyways had to observe and inspect and advise. Weird.

Knew the Fire Marshall, he would laugh. I’m having a good day he would say knowing what I wad going through.

There was this boss-kinda-guy... he was a pos ... always frowned. Everytime I saw him I was reminded of Wesely Mooxh from Atlas Shrugged.

Forgot to add: dude threatened me that he would break my arm if I so much as touched a pen.

Biden was going to raise taxes on the wealthy. He campaigned on that, and once in office he never made any move, o even mention, to increase taxes on the rich, because it would have affected his family of grifters.

Well, well EPUnum you just posted articles from the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post and the New York Times, bang, bang and bang. I wonder, which Democrat outfit is paying your freight. Of course you will cover your tracks with some RINO piece, but I wonder who you are fooling?

“..decrying actions by the Trump administration that they say weaken unions and harm workers while strengthening and emboldening major corporations and the wealthy.”

Still clueless and brainwashed about business and economics.

I meant to say they never tell us where Biden raised taxes on the rich

“Biden was going to raise taxes on the wealthy. He campaigned on that”

See I have differences with my suburban mother buddies on this kind of statement

They say “he was going to do something, he said he would” means two different things to me. A known grifter and liar saying they’re going to do something does not mean they mean to do it. These women struggle with husbands, adult kids, politicians because they think it means the same thing

These women have such trouble getting disappointed

They don’t have a BS flag. Not even a sense of BS. From a known grifter

No Biden was not going to do any such thing. The wealthy are the democrats party. No democrat is racing their taxes. Ever.

I saw protesters today in Minnesota with signs claiming Trump’s tax cuts were only for the wealthy. Obviously they didn’t know about the no taxes on tips, overtime and Social Security benefits in the Big Beautiful Bill or that socialist Ilan Omar is now reported to be worth $30 million.

Yes, I assumed that was what you had meant to say. 😁👍

Many people expect politicians to lie in their campaigns, but then hold them unaccountable for a myriad of excuses.

And many people hold politicians at their word, claiming they did something without checking the facts

Yes, that also happens, and they will not believe those who tell them differently. . But as you said they cannot produce evidence that supports their claims. They can't find it, so they ignore it assuming their politician is being thwarted in some form or fashion. In some cases they are correct, in far more cases they have just accepted their own reality.

Humanity is far from perfect having been granted free will by the creator of everything around us, because the purpose of life is to learn by ones mistakes. Some never do, some take too long, while others learn from this mistakes rather quickly. I fall somewhere in the middle. I take too long too often, but I eventually get there. One was accepting the Lord & his teachings. 👍😎

Trump is done more than any other President to save the unions and make their members more prosperous.

Which means all these idiots protesting against Trump are really anti unions.

Union members should realize who their enemies are.
