Wonder how long Temu will last? I know they’ve moved a lot of inventory over here already, but a lot of the stuff still comes from China. Going to be interesting to see how this works out.

Yeah. I was looking at some vintage turntables from Japan but gave up until this is resolved.

Wonderful, I have $300 in car parts stuck in Japan. Ba$tards had all the parts in stock paid for inc. shipping and couldn’t get their act together to do anything for three days other than create a shipping label that said “SHIPPED” Nope shipping label only “created” The order should have beat the 15% tariff let alone the stop shipment.

Yep, Over the last five days I bought both of our cars portable battery jump starters / tire inflators off of AliExpress, and Temu. Both shipped from the USA.

If I am traveling back from one of those countries, do I have to pay a tariff on the first dump I take in my toilet? :-P

I order nothing from those places. Nothing. Not my problem.

We order cooling fans for some equipment from one of those countries (China).

Still need them. Will look in the secondary market. Will cost more and because its for a FedGov customer, it will get paid.

Uncle Sam flexing his market muscle.

Shouldn’t have ever done the whole $800 thing in the first place.

No doubt some government grifters benefited from it.

In the past I've ordered computer parts from Taiwan, generic prescription drugs from India and Switzerland, and toilet paper from China.

Yup, during the Great Covid Lockdown Toilet Paper Panic of 2020, I ordered toilet paper from China on Amazon.

It arrived several months later. Very cheaply made toilet paper.

I have 2 parcels process and were in the process of shipment
Now they are being held up
2 further parcels waiting for processing
I read according to the White House. U.S. Customs and Border Protection processed more than 4 million de minimis shipments going into the country every day
If that is accurate I don’t see how this won’t be resolved quickly
That is a mountain of parcels piling up

All this is is a wait-and-see attitude from the companies.

They need to see what settles out or have the US buyer agree to pay whatever tariff is levied.

That is it.
