OK, anyone from Phoenix that lived this dust storm?

I work remotely and one of my coworkers is in Phoenix and had to excuse himself from a meeting to run outside and gather up the dogs, cover the pool and bring the grill and patio furniture in. He returned with an apology and an accompanying photo to explain his abrupt disappearance. His pic was very similar to the one above

When I lived in the Phoenix area it happened 2 or 3 times a year during the monsoon season.

If you had situational awareness, you would see it coming and take pull off the road or go inside.

typical monsoon season storm. Branches down. Saw some sparks from a telephone pole transformer. The car needs to be washed. Kitties didn’t want to go out. Normal. No big deal.

I’ve been through one of those on the 10 going from Palm Springs to Tombstone. Ruined the paint on the rental car and middle of the day it was pitch black. Shut down the freeway. Lasted about 30 minutes

Nah, just reflections of can lights on the airport window that the photo was shot thru.

Yup. Got caught in one in an open top Jeep YJ a few years back in Imperial Co California. That was a weird experience. Paint was gone on my bumper. Ruined the windshield. I changed the oil the next day.

Picture is taken through glass (not the shadow reflections above the terminal on the left side of the image. So, likely interior lights reflecting on the glass with the exterior being darker than the interior.

This is a great example of how ufo stories start. People immediately draw conclusions before they stop and think.

The photo was taken inside. The regularly spaced lights are reflections on the inside of the window.
