Majority Of Voters Say Trump’s DC Crime Crackdown Was ‘Justified,’ Feel ‘Unsafe’

A majority of Americans back President Donald Trump’s crime crackdown in the District of Columbia and believe large American cities are unsafe, according to recent polling.

A Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released Monday found that 54% of registered voters said the president’s crime-fighting efforts in the nation’s capital are “justified and necessary.” The favorable results come as the administration is touting a marked decline in crime since the president’s federal takeover of D.C., including a 12-day streak of zero reported homicides.

“This town averaged one murder every other day for the last 20-30 years, which means in two short weeks the president and his team have saved six or seven lives, people who would have been killed on the streets of DC,” Vice President JD Vance told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday.

“[Those individuals] are now living, breathing, spending time with their families because the president had the willpower to say no more, we’re not going to give the streets of DC over to vagrants and robbers and murderers,” Vance added.

“The deterrent effect of all that’s going on as a result of the president’s move to make D.C. safe and beautiful is literally changing the safety landscape of Washington,” Pirro said in a video posted to the social media platform X on Monday.

Fifty-four percent of respondents also support the president declaring a crime emergency in the nation’s capital and 56% believe the average big city in the United States is “unsafe,” according to the survey. A slight majority of registered voters — 51% — said Trump’s deployment of National Guard units to Washington would make the city more safe.

The pollster also found the Trump administration’s efforts received strong support among independents with 47% of that cohort backing Trump’s actions to reduce crime.

Trump has saved more black lives in two weeks than Obama did in 8 years.

What they're not telling you is that Biden sent "help" to 5 states. I'll post some links.

So this is all anti-Trump cr** that we're being fed.

Interesting that the woman being so nicely helped didn’t bother to thank the Guardsman at the bottom of the stairs. She just ignored him and walked on.

My thought...

We didn’t see the entire interaction.

I’m betting he asked the lady if she she would like his assistance.

She may have thanked him when she accepted.

” A slight majority of registered voters — 51% — said Trump’s deployment of National Guard units to >>Washington<< would make the city more safe.”

Defining the narrative.

A thankful person would have at least given him a smile at the bottom of the stairs. She didn’t even glance his way.

Speaking as someone who’s had some mobility issues over the years, I can tell you that sometimes it can take your full concentration just to stay upright.

Be grateful he was there and she got safely down the escalator.

God bless them both.

All the more reason to take a mere second to smile at him or at least mutter some word of thanks under your breath.

A Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released Monday found that 54% of registered voters said the president’s crime-fighting efforts in the nation’s capital are “justified and necessary.”

Only 54%? The other 46% are probably not living in a high-crime DC area.

With Chicago being the next in his sights. Every weekend ,30 to 50 shooting take place in the break wind city. It’s time for this to stop. Gov. Soft pretzel isn’t going to do squat.

Thanks. I just sent this to my wife who has been telling me the opposite is true.
She reads “Epoch Times” religiously and her “news” feed from fakebook seems to inform her the locals aren’t happy about President Trump’s control efforts.

Our son lives just off capitol hill very near the crumbling shibboleth RFK stadium and my wife watches the crime reports very closely. I’ve asked him to apply for a carry permit several times - I have several of “his” guns here (“his” meaning ones I bought for him to shoot when he was younger) but he’s not interested.

His life, his choice.

I’ve stopped paying much attention to the news out of DC insofar as criminal activity is concerned - unless it’s politicians. The ordinary stuff, well, he’s on his own and my wife tries telling me about every jaywalking ticket with breathless fear-mongering.

Everything Is Going to be Okay.
