Covid vaccine mandates and a lack of transparency by public-health experts produced many unintended effects—or what scientists call “off target” responses. One is a political turn against mRNA technology that could damage U.S. innovation and pandemic preparedness.
The Health and Human Services Department recently scrapped 22 mRNA-related vaccine investments. “These vaccines fail to protect effectively against upper respiratory infections like COVID and flu,” Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said. “We’re shifting that funding toward safer, broader vaccine platforms that remain effective even as viruses mutate.”
Let’s dissect these assertions. Start with his claim that mRNA vaccines fail to protect against upper respiratory infections. It’s true that the Biden crowd oversold the ability of the Covid vaccines to provide long-lasting protection against infection. But real-world evidence showed they provide strong and relatively durable protection against severe illness.
The failure to provide long-lasting protection against infections wasn’t because mRNA technology is ineffective. No vaccine platform provided durable protection against infection. That’s because Covid replicates rapidly in the upper respiratory tract, which makes it difficult for vaccines to prevent infections regardless of whether the virus mutates.
Vaccines against measles, smallpox and mumps provide life-long protection because those viruses have long incubation periods. The immune system, once trained by the vaccines, has time to gear up against invading pathogens. Not so for Covid, flu and RSV.
Mr. Kennedy wants to revert to using decades-old inactivated whole-virus vaccines, which China used during the pandemic. But China’s vaccines were less effective than the mRNA shots. One notable benefit of mRNA is that vaccines can be manufactured rapidly in the event of a pandemic. They can also be quickly updated if a virus mutates.

When I want medical advice from a grifters financial rag
Oh, nevermind, I never will.
They just want to sell big pharma .
Snake oil salesmen .
First of all the mRNA “vaccine” is not a vaccine. The CDC changed the definition of vaccine so it include the nRNA shot.
Second, why doesn’t the WSJ stay in their lane of calling for regime changes and endless wars.
Let me see. Who am I gonna believe? An industry that has billions of dollars to make on mRNA vaccines or someone making nothing trying to protect the public?
Do you mean the fact that the "vaccine" (the CDC changed the definition of "vaccine" twice because it isn't a vaccine) didn't actually protect you at all and made it more likely you would contract COVID-1984?
That "oversold?"
Do these people and all people who follow this believe that the body has no way of fighting disease?
Do they know that this country is freaking fat? The whole country? That kids can’t get up to go outside and their mothers feed them American crap?
The WSJ is an evil paper.
When the advertisement revenue sides with Big Pharma, what would you expect the media prostitutes to say?
Translation:
They are not done harming and killing us for profit and population control with this highly effective weapon.

I have a simple question for these WSJ “experts”: What is the short, medium, and long-term safety testing results for mRNA “vaccines”? Have any of them passed muster on the safety side?
From what I have been able to gather, none have.
I’m still waiting for “them” to loosen up access on Ivermectin, so I can get it for less than $1 per pill.....
Force the editorial board to get jabbed quarterly and see what they say.
Is this an example of Covid Apologists?
The whole article is full of holes leaking crap.
I would think the bigger concern would be to follow normal, established testing processes for all “vaccines.” I would also revert to the old definition of vaccines: They prevent infection and spreading of specific disease.
It’s not that hard.
A Japanese researcher showed that there was 5x the excess deaths from the vaccine compared to the unvaccinated, and the toxicity increases with each dose.
18 million Japanese in the statistics.
Sounds like the WSJ editorial staff needs 5-8 more jabs to clear their head.
I REALLY wish ALL media Co’s were required to release an actual $ number and a % of revenue stating where their $$ comes from.
Esp “news” shows. It would be great if they were required to have a crawl on the bottom of the screen, Pfizer $30m/ 10%, NEA Teachers’ Union %10m / 10% etc, DNC Party $20m/ 15%..
“ decades-old inactivated whole-virus vaccines”
These work.
mRNA vaccines are little more than placebos.
Seconded.
