In an interview with NBC News' Andrea Mitchell, Finnish President Alexander Stubb weighed in on the attempted peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. He likened the possibility of Ukraine ceding land to Russia to the U.S. giving up multiple states.

Again?
Uhh, does he remember Finland giving up land to the Soviets?
Must we pick which states to give to the Russians? Can’t we narrow it down to just a few selected cities?
Russia ain’t given up sh*t…..jmo
Analogy doesn’t work. Not even close.
It was 12% and it was in fee.
Downstate New York is already globohomo neo-marxist. I don't think Russia would take it.
OK let them fight it out then.
I would suggest Finland take up arms and go kick Russia out.
“Analogy doesn’t work. Not even close.”
Let’s see if we can make it better...
“He likened the possibility of Ukraine ceding land to Russia to the U.S. giving up multiple states while it was in a war it was losing against a determined, superior power who was intent to take over the whole enchilada and very likely could if we didn’t compromise.”
What do you think?
Stubb is ignorant of US history so his analogy falls flat.
This is understandable because he’s a foreigner who lacks knowledge of our country.
Porkkala and some of the islands were returned to Finland in 1956. Gorbachev was willing to give back more territory in 1990.
Ironically, the leader of the Karelo-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic in the Forties was someone named Mark Gorbachev. Andropov led the party's youth division.
I’m fine with that if I can pick the states and parts thereof. And can designate who goes with the territory and who can retain US citizenship.
There are only two ways this can turn out.
1. Russian and Ukraine continue to lob missiles and drones at each other in a continuing war of attrition for the next several years. If Ukraine ever manages to lob missiles into Moscow, Russia will likely retaliate with nukes. Either way, Russia may never win, but Ukraine (and the millions more who are killed) will almost certainly lose.
2. Ukraine capitulates and cedes territory to Russia.
That’s it. Ukraine is never going to defeat Russia any more than Afghanistan defeated Russia or the U.S. They just didn’t all get killed and were still there when Russia and then the U.S. gave up and left.
If it were the U.S. that was invaded, would we fight to the last man? Many of us would. Maybe Ukraine will too. The difference, of course, is that Ukraine is relying on other countries to keep them going, and those other countries are not interested in fighting to their last man, even countries like Finland, that are perfectly willing to fight until Ukraine’s last man is dead.
Cool. You and the Fins can fight.
This is understandable because he’s a foreigner who lacks knowledge of our country.
Lol 😀
Apparently so.
YouCrayne can’t even kick Ruzzia out.
