For quite some time, the leftist political establishment has been accusing President Donald Trump of abandoning the US Constitution.
Now they have me wondering why that’s supposed to be a criticism.
Just last week The New York Times, the establishment’s chief house organ, boosted the arguments of writer Osita Nwanevu in a column headlined: “Abolish the Senate. End the Electoral College. Pack the Court.”
Why? Because “The left can’t win without a new Constitution.”
He’s hardly the first Democrat to say so.
I’ve noticed that whenever the Constitution stands in the way of something the left wants at the moment, it’s decried as a flaw in the Constitution — not understood as a problem with what the left wants.
When Republicans propose to draw district lines for political gain, as blue states have done to an extreme degree, we’re told it’s a threat to the Constitution.
But when Democrats want to chuck the Constitution altogether, well, that’s different.

The democrats want the Kingdom of the US or whatever they would call it ,LOL
Maybe we should take up arms !
Socialists.
When they win by the rules, we have to follow the rules and respect “set/established precedents” and we can’t change them....
When they don’t win/steal, then they tzlk about how archaic they are and we must change them, we need new laws and rules....
Its so effing predictable. Socialists gonna socialist.
I’d prefer a gauntlet about 100 yards long, people in each side with bats, chains, and whatnot, then lining up those complaining and telling them: there it is. If you manage to reach it, then we’ll talk.
“Democrats demand a new Constitution — maybe America should take them up on it”
Constitutions don’t work in countries flooded by Third World types...only strong-men can work, and only sometimes.
About 60 years ago, when Earl Warren's Court was running amok, there was a proposal from conservatives to create the Court of Union. This court would consist of the 50 state chief justices of their states' highest courts, which would be above the US Supreme Court. The judges of the Court of Union would meet en banc to determine whether a SCOTUS decision would stand or be reversed.
I’m sorry and I’m sure it’s a serious failing on my part, but I’m just not going to take advice about the U.S. Constitution from someone named Osita Nwanevu .
Uh oh. Democrats are having trouble winning, so we need a new Constitution.
How many times have we heard this already?
NEVER open the constitution like this. NEVER!
I have a better idea.
Abolish the Democrat Party.
And as a kid I thought clowns were scary (still do) but now there’s this?
There isn’t enough intelligent life in DC to rewrite the Constitution.
Another Star Wars name person...
If the Democrats had their way, we’d be a “people’s republic” in both name and deed.
Then we could be just like these two enlightened countries:
The People’s Republic of China - China
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea - North Korea
We have a few PRs on our shores where we can see how this line of thinking plays out. Like San Francisco in the PRK.
