Lazy weekend for me, didn't go anywhere.
I hope all is better your way.

Thanks for posting about Donald Sloat. Just about to turn 21. He looks mature for a 20 year old in his picture. Sorry his life was taken from him so young. Thank you for remembering him and telling us about his enormous sacrifice.
Good evening, Pro...another hero we must remember.
Lazy weekend here as well. Fatigue snuck up on me a couple times.
.
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...hope you and Blue had another good day.
No sun yesterday, but it’s coming out some today. Maybe I can sneak in 15 minutes or so of sun time.
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Howdy, Kathy.
I hope you’ve managed to get a little sun time on your deck today. Mighty pretty day up there at long last.
Howdy, PRO.
Lazy weekend because it’s too darn hot to go out to do anything (like here) or simply because it feels good? :-)
Lazy here, too, except for my midnight shifts at the Vietnam Traveling Wall. We’re back under heat advisories again for a few days so doing stuff during the day is pretty much out of the question.
It's cooled into the 80's lately so I was just a lazy butt this weekend!
I saw the Vietnam Traveling Wall in Albany, Oregon around 2007, very moving and a great reminder to honor those who gave their all for their country.
Welcome to the Canteen, beaversmom...glad you enjoyed this hero.
We must remember them.
Good evening, radu...hope you had a restful day and it was’t too hot.
Sun is finally out, but every time I go out on the deck it is behind a cloud. But just sitting out there, in a sweatshirt, is relaxing.
Dang, I just about hurt someone for temps in the 80s. LOL We’re 90s with the heat index 100+. I stepped out to bring in the hummingbird feeders to refill them this afternoon and it was suffocating out there.
Nights are nice and even get a little chilly where the Wall is set up. It’s at the edge of the big lake here. I end up putting on a long-sleeve shirt over my t-shirt by 2 a.m.
It’s been 10 years since the Wall was here. I didn’t know anyone involved with the arrangements that time but got lucky this time and was able to volunteer.
It IS very moving, and at night it has a different aura.
Hey there, Kathy.
It’s been a restful day because I had NO desire to go anywhere. WAY too hot!
Darn those clouds! Just won’t give you a break and let you soak up some rays. How rude!
Howdy, luvie.
Hope it was a good day.
I keep hoping the rain just west of you will scoot a little more to the east.
Hey there, radu!
I sat out for a bit awhile ago, and there was a nice cool breeze and the scent of rain...but then the rain clouds retreated back to the west and scooted north. Darn ‘em!
Hope your day went well. Still enjoying being at the memorial wall at night?
Sounds like it’s pretty nice there tonight. It’s a shame you couldn’t get any of that rain though. I checked the radar a few times and it got pretty close, then poof.
Suffocatingly hot here today. It’s cooled of now but not as much as this time the past couple of nights. It’ll be a little cooler at the Wall since it’s at the edge of the lake and there might be a little breeze there. There was last night.
Yes, still enjoying the midnight shift there. Tonight and tomorrow night, then the crew will take it down Tues. morning and head to the next location.
And on that note, it’s time to get ready to go. Gotta feed the cats before I head out.
Have a good rest of the night!
Evening, Kathy.
What a hero! How inspiring!
