No matter what President Trump does, they will twist it into failure. The recent Alaska Summit is no exception. They say Trump “left no deal struck,” “made no progress,” or worse, that he “failed.” But here’s the reality they don’t want you to see: Donald Trump showed what real leadership looks like—he took the first steps toward peace in a world desperate for it, put the ball firmly in Russia’s court, and sent a message that America under Trump means business.
...
The Alaska Summit wasn’t a press conference or a reality TV stunt; it was real diplomacy. Trump went all the way to Alaska to face Vladimir Putin, extend a hand of peace, and open a door that the Biden administration ignored. He didn’t come with ultimatums or force deals. Instead, he put the responsibility where it belongs: on Russia, Ukraine, NATO, and Europe. Trump’s message was simple but powerful: Do you want peace? It’s on you to make it happen. No one is forcing anything; no deals are being imposed. [...]
Critics love to mock diplomacy as “talking” or “handshakes,” but those are the tools of true statesmanship. Peace is not won by threats or tweets alone. It’s won by extending respect to adversaries while holding firm to your country’s interests. Trump understands this better than anyone. That’s why the Alaska Summit was no failure; it was a masterstroke of strategy. He put the ball in Putin’s court. If Putin chooses peace, great. If not, Trump already has Plans B, C, D, E, and F lined up. This is a man who knows how to play chess on the global stage, not checkers.
And here’s what the critics conveniently ignore: Trump’s approach isn’t about backing down or showing weakness. It’s about strength or, more specifically, peace through strength.

Crab quotas? Did he get crab quotas? :)
Trump is brilliant and has more energy than seems possible.
Just like when you have a great manager for a baseball team, (Terry Francona), you may not agree or understand all the moves, but you just trust the man making the moves.
I see an emeritus role for PDJT in the Vance administration - if JD is smart enough to use him.
Trump could walk on water and the Left would say “He can’t swim”.
After one meeting—one does not expect the wand to be waved and everything solved....but in a sense President Trump did dig that hole in that he said he could solve the mess in a single sitting. Hyperbole of course, but the left took that as a literal 24 hour deadline.
And of course Russia has been stringing out the process to gain on the ground. Frankly, I lay the whole sheband at the feet of those that ran th course of events back in 2014-15...That is when the conflict began.
of course Russia desires a “Friendly” country next door. I think they can accept a country that is not a step dog—but one that is friendly as well as independent. Ukraine and Russia do have a history for good or ill that goes back centuries.
It would do all of us well to see what happens the next couple of months as it all begins to unfold. President Trump has a big “solve” to overcome as it was his country that essentially started this whole mess back in 2014 and why Russia would want to negotiate with the leading country behind the proxy war is beyond me....but perhaps since the War is between the US/Europe and Russia—the negotiations are just where they need to be.
(Margaret Thatcher Quote)
One of my many favorites of hers.
“Trump is brilliant and has more energy than seems possible.”
It reminds me of the long-ago SNL skit where Phil Hartman’s Reagan is shown portraying the amiable dunce for the cameras, but behind the scenes was the genius mastermind running schemes around the world, joking with world leaders in their native language and continually awakening drowsing underlings that couldn’t keep up with his pace.
That’s a cool piece of history right there. UK could sure use another Margaret Thatcher right about now.
BTTT
It was obvious to see who the real leader was

It’s almost as if he wrote a book on how to do this.

Trump and Putin are leashing the EU/Rump-British Empire/Davos globohomo (and their DC deep-state fellow-travelers) with their talk of peace.
Trump is at war with them in the USA
Putin is at war with them in Ukraine and Baltics.
Trump went all the way to the former Russian territory of Alaska to face Vladimir Putin
To drive home the point that Russia doesn't get it back just because they once had it!
Just like Ukraine...
Ha! That ought to make the left special. We want to beat them here and Vlad wants to kick their butt there. Democrats making friends everywhere. /s
