Media outlets are fact-checking President Donald Trump’s concerns about violence in Washington, D.C., by pointing to misleading crime statistics.
Trump has moved to increase federal law enforcement’s footprint in D.C.’s streets and take over the local police department after a former Trump administration staffer was assaulted by a mob during a carjacking on August 3. Legacy media outlets and Democratic lawmakers responded to Trump’s complaints about violent crime in D.C. by reporting that it decreased by 35% in 2024, citing local police data that leave out crimes such as felony and aggravated assault, thereby making D.C.’s crime problem appear better than it is since the onset of COVID-19 in 2020.

Nationwide, the libs have been cooking the books. In California, reporting is voluntary and key hot spots do not report their crime stats.

I’m sure the stats are cooked in most cities. Here in Minneapolistan it seems like most crimes get dropped down to misdemeanor jaywalking convictions.
The reason why commies dont want to talk about DC crime is because 100 percent of the crime is being committed by blacks..so the left has to defend them otherwise they will be called racist by their fellow commies. Remember, crime is fine as long as its being committed by blacks, now if these were white thugs going around shooting people in DC, robbing them, raping them, etc..the same commie media would say that Trump is right to do this
Watch season 3 of “The Wire” to see how police commanders can cook the stats to achieve their assigned goals.

If democrats were in charge of reporting Russian casualties in Ukraine, they would come up with ZERO Russians killed or injured. Russia would still have an intact army.
Nobody was murdered or injures in DC, when the murders and injuries and muggings are removed from the crime stats.
In a big Democrat-run city near me, cops will no longer respond to minor crimes. The victim is supposed to phone in the complaint.
I wonder how many of those calls are classified as “unfounded” and scrubbed from the record.

Meanwhile, Norfolk VA Commonwealth’s Attorney (DA) stated that he would NOT prosecute shoplifters and other “nonviolent” crimes in his run for reelection.
He got reelected.
These are the same democrats who report no election thefts and no illegal voters and no voting machines in error and no crooked elections officials in their districts.

Crime is so low in DC that nobody dares walk the streets at night. Hmmmm.
The Dems have their ‘street militias’ to rely on beating up people. There was a Congresswoman who called on her ‘brothers’ in the street to ‘step up’ and ‘make things right’.
Remarkable because any such an assault can be either fatal, like what Martin was doing to Zimmerman, or can easily cause grave bodily harm. Most self-defense laws allow the use of lethal force to stop such an assault.
