'Things need to change': Senate Democrats sharpen criticism of Israel as humanitarian concerns grow

Senate Democrats have undergone a steady tonal shift on Israel, with a recent vote to block arms sales to the Jewish State giving a glimpse at the evolution on the Hill.

More Democrats in the upper chamber than ever before voted alongside Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to halt the $675 million sale of thousands of bombs and guidance kits for the bombs and to block the sale of automatic rifles to Israel. […]

“What’s going on is unacceptable, and Israel has the power to fix it,” Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, told Fox News Digital.

Like Sanders, King typically caucuses with Senate Democrats. But unlike his fellow Independent colleague, he has routinely stood firm in his support of Israel. But the photos and reports of widespread malnutrition prompted him to vote to block arms sales. […]

And like King, Sen. Jean Shaheen, the top ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, changed course and voted in favor of blocking arms sales out of concern that food aid was not making its way to Palestinians. …

The shift away from the criminals is ongoing.

They just refuse to discuss the matter from a position of rationality and sanity.

Oh, naughtZees eh? Anti-Israel congress critters. Sadly some Jewish folks here in the U.S. are of the same mind set. Guess “NEVER AGAIN” is just some lame saying. What ignorant assclowns. They need to see the post 10/7 cleanup videos.

When the United States was attacked we ended up nuking our enemy. It worked. War is always a horrible thing. Trying to make it humane only prolongs the suffering. Crash the enemy quickly .

The awful truth is that the people of Gaza have been conditioned to hate Jews from the very day they are born. It is their holy duty to destroy Israel. Only a ruthless war against them has any hope of a lasting peace .

Maybe King, Shaheen and the other turners should get their ft asses over to Gaza and see what is going on, instead of relying on the Hamas Health Ministry.

The Jewish faith categorically rejects the demand for “Muslim hatred” because it would be "contrary" to their “humanitarian ideals.” For such Jews, support for Jew-hating NYC mayoral candidate Mamdani is a test of their belief in “Jewish humanitarianism.”

Humanitarian ideals? It’s nauseating that these weirdo Israeli ***-kissers think starving a child is acceptable based on their “humanitarian ideals.......

npr.org-——Photos of a starving baby in Gaza shocked the world

”Humanitarian Israel supporters” believe the image shows how intl media are “falsifying reporting” about mass starvation in Gaza.

Hidayat Al-Motawaq holds her 18-month-old son, Mohammad Al-Motawaq, in their tent in the Gaza Strip on August 3, 2025. Mohammad is wearing only a diaper, and his ribs are sticking out. His limbs are unusually thin for a child of his age.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — You likely have seen the images: an emaciated Palestinian baby boy, lying limp in his mother’s arms. The pictures are of 18-month-old Mohammad Al-Motawaq and his widowed mother, Hidayat Al-Motawaq, in Gaza City. Mohammad is a year and a half old and nearly all bone. His eyes protrude, as does his swollen stomach. His spine is so sharp and so defined, it seems it might poke through his thin skin. His name is Mohammad Al-Motawaq. He is 18 months old. And he is starving in Gaza The images are among those published by major media organizations, including NPR, that depict the extreme hunger that has gripped most of Gaza. NPR first met the family and photographed the family members in late July, in their tent by the Mediterranean Sea in north Gaza, where they had been displaced.

Since then, the images of the starving baby have been widely circulated within Israel and around the world for a very different reason: Israel’s "humanitarian supporters" believe the images show how international media are "falsifying" reporting about mass starvation in Gaza.

Did we worry about starving Germans while we were bombing Berlin?

No need to worry about the starving terrorists.

Democrats are OK with arming foreign countries but grabbing guns from Americans is an obsession w/ them. The same “Democrats” that gleefully trample your 2A rights, are hell bent on depleting US supplies——there to protect American families-——by supplying reams of tax-paid weapons to “our greatest ally.”

Since 1973, Israel has received more than $120 billion US tax
dollars in MILITARY assistance alone, including “three special aid” packages.
<><>billions for signing the Israel-Egypt peace treaty
<><>billions for Israel’s withdrawal from the Sinai.
<><>billions for redeployment of Israeli forces
<><>rebuilding Israeli air bases in the Negev cost $5 billion.

Besides weaponry, Israel also receives economic and humanitarian foreign aid, which supports broad economic development and sociopolitical stability and can include non-military support related to the country’s pressing security needs.

Military aid from US taxpayers has blanketed Israel over the years. They have more than enough resources, now, to nail Hamas and Hezbollah. Wealthy Israel has very low debt, and actually had a budget surplus this year, while the US is $33 trillion in debt, a debt which future generations are saddled with.

All the information given below is info Israel and its annoying stalwarts do not want you to know.

Historically, a large portion of US tax dollars given as “military aid” to Israel has been provided through Foreign Military Financing (FMF) grants, which allow Israel to purchase US military equipment and services.

While this is a form of foreign aid, it is important to note that Israel’s total control of Congress has sometimes allowed it to inveigle Congress into transforming “bills due for military aid” into “gifts.”

Here’s a breakdown of how the FMF program works in relation to Israel:

<><>Grants for purchases: The FMF program provides grant funding that Israel uses to purchase defense articles and services from the United States.

<><>Long-term agreement: This funding is part of a 10-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the U.S. and Israeli governments, ensuring a consistent level of military assistance. The current MOU allocates $3.3 billion annually for FMF and an additional $500 million for cooperative missile defense programs. Not direct gifts: Israel uses these funds to purchase military equipment and services, essentially using U.S. grant money to buy U.S. goods and support industries.

It is also crucial to be aware that the U.S. may provide additional military assistance to Israel beyond the FMF program, particularly during times of conflict or emergencies, as evidenced by supplemental appropriations following the October 7, 2023, attacks.

In essence, while the U.S. provides substantial US tax dollars for Israel’s defense needs through the FMF program, it’s structured as a turnaround——tax dollars given for “purchases”......until Israel decides to have “purchases” turned into “gifts” by the Israeli-controlled Congress.

The aid thieves are probably quite often HAMAS members.

Israel could seize these aid thieves and use them to barter for hostages.

The latest poll of Democrat voters shows only 8% of Dems now support Israel. And the support for Israel among Independents isn’t much better. That puts the Dems in a quandary. Something like 50% of Dem money comes from Jewish donors. So do they go with their base or stick with the money? I assume most will go along with their base.
