Billionaire Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has responded to fellow Democrat and New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani's assertion that billionaires should not exist.
“How much money you have doesn’t determine what your values are,” Pritzker said in an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday. “I’m a Democrat because I believe that we’ve got to stand up for our democracy and against the MAGA Republicans who are literally trying to take away people’s rights all across this country.”

Pritzker has an estimated net worth of $3.7 billion, according to Forbes, in part due to his family’s ownership of the Hyatt Hotel chain.
The governor’s remarks came in response to a statement made by self-proclaimed Democratic-Socialist Mamdani—who won the New York City Democratic primary last month—who said: “I don’t think we should have billionaires.”

“Frankly, it is so much money in a moment of such inequality, and ultimately, what we need more of is equality across our city and across our state and across our country,” he told the same show, Meet the Press, in late June, when he already appeared to have the votes to win the primary.
“And I look forward to working with everyone, including billionaires, to make a city that is fair for all of them,” he added.
Both Priztker and Mamdani are seen as rising stars of the Democratic Party, but on opposite ends of the spectrum. Mamdani’s victory in the financial capital of the world was seen as a galvanizing moment for the progressive wing of the party and a sign of an insurgent mood among its base. Pritzker, meanwhile, is often spoken of as a potential 2028 presidential contender if the Democrats opt to appeal to moderate voters.

The games billionaires play is that they their wealth wrapped up in their companies or their foundations. So, their net worth are mostly not subject to taxation.
Then they advocate for socialism, because socialism needs high taxes to pay for it. In short, it is we more modest people that pays for socialism and not the billionaires.
Zohran Mamdani needs to live in a refrigerator box on the steps of NYC City Hall.
He needs to go back to Kenya
Prickster knows that when you have his kind of money you don’t need to bother with campaigning and all that nonsense. You just donate a buttload of money to the stupidest Republican with the least chance of winning, then sit on your fat ass while the suckers go for it.
Useful idiots.
I wouldn't mind if Mamdani eliminates some of that inequality with Pritzker's money.
Wait, what? The dude is a second hand billionaire?
Illinois something like the bottom 3rd personal Freedoms.
I’d like to know what “rights” are being taken away from anyone under Trump.
The #2 greaseball Governor on the planet. Newscum is still the #1 greaseball.
The last thing the upwardly stratified want is upward mobility for anyone else. Marxism was created for just that reason.

WORDS
Anti-Billionaire = We’re already billionaires, we just don’t want anyone else to be billionaires.
“Eat the rich...except for me”
Yup—Pritzker was born wealthy.
He is trying to convince the Democrats he is really just like them by spouting Democrat talking points.
From the Wikipedia article on the guy:
“Pritzker has said that certain overseas trusts for which he was the designated beneficiary were set up by his grandfather and are used only for charitable contributions, yielding no personal benefit to him”
He said it so it must be true.
Lol.

Other than the property tax and sales taxes (including tariffs), we mainly tax income, not net worth. This is as it should be because wealth inequality is not bad per se. Wealth should not be taxed at all unless it has been accumulated by theft, slavery, feudalism, monopoly, etc. Prosperous countries are nor obsessed with making everyone equally poor.
“Wealth should not be taxed at all unless it has been accumulated by theft, slavery, feudalism, monopoly, etc.”
There needs to be one more item added to the list.
If the wealthy get involved in politics so they can use the power of the state to stomp on people then all their wealth should be confiscated.
This is part of the rats triangulation play and it’s BS.

Zohran responded: “Except for you JB, of course.”
