WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday said he was nominating economist E.J. Antoni as the new Bureau of Labor Statistics commissioner, ten days after firing the statistics agency's previous leader after a weak scorecard of the U.S. job market, accusing her without evidence of manipulating the figures.
Antoni is currently the chief economist at the influential U.S. conservative think tank Heritage Foundation.
"Our Economy is booming, and E.J. will ensure that the Numbers released are HONEST and ACCURATE," Trump said on Truth Social.

Great smart conservative choice.
He has been a critic of the lack of transparency of the BLS statistical models, and their raw survey methods that obtain the data that goes into the models. H has seen how often for the past thirty years the data has proven unreliable.
The bureaucracy has been willing to just keep going along without any reforms of their processes for decades, and their supporters have referred to the BLS statistics as the “gold standard” admired in the world.
But U.S. businesses and private economists know better. With how much reliability are they expected to greet each new month’s reported data, when they KNOW from past experience that “data” is likely to be widely revised up or down, in looking back numbers in succeeding months. Data that is nearly almost always greatly revised is not reliable data and certainly no “gold standard”.
Calm down. Antoni is a Heritage Foundation guy, the Chief Economist, and Richard Aster Fellow, in The Heritage Foundation’s Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget.
I agree. He is a great choice, plus he is friends with Russ Voght.
I think those two derps are just casting doubt on the story being true simply because they don’t like the source. Sadly, such towering intellects as they are still manage to create accounts here.

Please note the “without evidence of manipulating figures” in the above. Utterly, utterly laughable. The entire work product of that individual was fake numbers to make the senile child molester’s economy look better than it really was. So now this individual has integrity?
