By any reasonable historical measure, Donald Trump should be a front-runner for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In his first term, he brokered the Abraham Accords — a cascade of normalization agreements between Israel and multiple Arab nations that foreign policy elites had long claimed were impossible. In his second term, the pace has been even more remarkable: Armenia-Azerbaijan, Rwanda-DR Congo, Israel-Iran, Cambodia-Thailand, and India-Pakistan ceasefires or peace frameworks — some signed within months of his return to office, spanning three continents.
Trump has now received at least a dozen Nobel Peace Prize nominations in his lifetime, putting him squarely in the range of many past laureates.
In another era, that record would have made his selection almost inevitable. Today, it almost guarantees he will be passed over.
By those standards, Trump’s record is not only competitive — it’s in some ways superior, with more deals concluded in less time and across a wider geographic range.

It’s a bogus award.
Once Obama was given that prize, the prize was sullied to the point that it no longer matters. It is not a worthy prize, any longer.
The Peace Prize is one of those international institutions that started with noble sentiment, became corrupted over time, and now is decaying into irrelevance. (You could say the same thing about the UN.) Awarding it to Trump would do more for the giver than the recipient.
Agreed. I wouldn’t want an award in my name that was awarded to people like Obama, Al Gore, Arafat, and Sadat.

Trump eliminated ISIS in six months during his first term. Obama could not do it in his entire 8 years. Instead Obama overthrew Libya and put al Qaeda in charge of it. He gets the Nobel Peace Prize, however.
It doesn’t matter.
If it’s not awarded for achievement, the Peace Prize is worthless.
The NPP is a joke after 0bama got one for not doing anything but will do something or other later.

Obama UNDERESTIMATED ISIS, calling them a junior varsity team.
At the time, ISIS had just captured Fallujah, and Obama was responding to concerns about the resurgence of al-Qaeda-affiliated groups. He suggested that not every regional terrorist group posed the same level of threat as al-Qaeda under bin Laden.
And, to highlight how meaningless they are; he got nominated weeks before he even took office.
Nobel, Oscar, Emmy, etc.
All self-congratulatory mutual whacking off.
It will go to the head of Hamas or the Ayatollah.
Guess he got it for obtaining the office?
