Mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo proposed “Zohran’s law” that would block privileged New Yorkers like his socialist rival Zohran Mamdani from living in rent-stabilized apartments.
Mamdani, 33, who rakes in $142,000 a year as a state assemblyman and whose wealthy family includes his filmmaker mom and professor dad, has been living in a $2,300-a-month, one-bedroom pad in Astoria. “I’m calling the legislation ‘Zohran’s Law.’ This is obviously an abuse of the system,” Cuomo told The Post Sunday.
“We’re not supposed to be providing rent-stabilized apartments to the children of millionaires.”

Exactly. The whole point of rent control if for the hard core elite. Remember when they had luxury decontrol for people making above $200,000 per year?
They exempted any apartment for which the rent control rent was below $2,000. That saved the true elite living in 11 room Park Ace apartments since 1940 at $900 per month.
And then when the hard core elite units started inching toward $2,000 they scrapped decontrol altogether.
President. He was down 5 points in the polls with a week or so to go, and went all-in on the liberal label. GHWB trounced him.
Dukakis was never ahead, even SNL mocked him when Jon Lovitz said, “I can’t believe I’m losing to this guy!”
Probably double that $4600
I wonder if he'd even want to put up with that crap. The State Legislature is run by a more than a 2:1 RAT majority. The Assembly has 150 seats. The current breakdown is 102 RATS, 48 Republicans. The Senate has 63 seats. The breakdown for that is 42 RATS, 21 Republicans. I don't see any major change there, even in four years time. He'd get nothing changed or passed. He'd be a lame duck Governor all four years.

Yes . 2300 a month for a 1 bedroom is abuse of a system. I agree.
