A bronze statue of a man who lost his life during an attempted assassination of Donald Trump during a campaign rally in western Pennsylvania in July 2024 has been placed at the site.
Corey Comperatore, 50, a volunteer firefighter and former chief, was shot and killed when Thomas M. Crooks, 20, opened fire during a Trump campaign rally in Butler July 13, 2024.
Secret Service agents shot and killed Crooks less than 30 seconds after he opened fire.
A statue of Comperatore was installed near the entrance to the 77th annual Butler Farm Show.
The statue shows Comperatore wearing his wedding ring, a casual shirt and boots. He is also depicted holding two bracelets with his daughter’s names and a Bible, according to CBS News.
Ken Laughlin, the president of the Butler Farm Show board of directors, said the statue is a constant reminder of the tragic events that took place just over a year ago.
“[The statue] reminds me of the day everything happened here,” Laughlin, who was there on the day of the shooting, told CBS News. “The whole [Butler Farm Show] show’s pretty special, but this statue up front here was donated by the Comperatore family.”
This year, the Butler Farm Show started a community outreach program that aims to donate to local fire departments and other organizations that contribute to the community. The farm show plans to donate $10,000 annually.
The statue of Comperatore was unveiled at the show grounds one year after the shooting.

God bless this heroic American and damn the DemonRATs that murdered him.
It’s actually a good sized image. Very touching. The bracelets are absolutely wonderful and I bet his family will visit to touch the statue. The one in front of the fire station is also wonderful. Trump never lets anyone forget that it wasn’t just an assassination attempt on him, but the murder and injury of innocents.
We do not hate Democrats or their media enough.

30 seconds is a very long time when you are getting shot at.

SS agents didn’t kill Crooks. Local law enforcement snipers killed Crooks.
Fox NASCAR lead Mike Joy last year posted on X that Mr. Comperatore also served on the safety team at Lernerville Speedway. One sprint car team gave the front wing of their car to the fire department he worked, and his memorial service was the day after their huge Kyle Larson High Limit tour stop at the track.
He was that respected, what he needs is a Comperatore Classic in High Limit
They killed Crooks less than 30 seconds after he started shooting. What took them so long?
They took at least that long to evacuate DJT off the grounds.
