Backfire: Barack Obama Weighs In On the Texas Redistricting Controversy and It Promptly Blows Up In His Face
Gateway Pundit, ^ | Aug. 6, 2025 | Cullen Linebarger

Obama decided to weigh in on Texas Republicans’ efforts to redistrict mid-decade, and he may have wanted to wait to hit send instead.

...

President Trump urged Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas State Legislature to create five additional Republican congressional seats to improve the GOP’s chances of winning the midterms. Abbott and the Legislature obliged, but that was not the end of the story.

After the map was approved by a House panel, Texas Democrats fled the state to block the Republicans in the legislature from holding a special session and to block a redistricting vote on Sunday. Illinois and New York are hosting the bulk of the fleebaggers.

Obama posted encouragement to the fleebaggers and urged his fellow Democrats to stay focused on the GOP’s so-called ‘power grab.”

“We can’t lose focus on what matters – right now,” Obama wrote on X. “Republicans in Texas are trying to gerrymander district lines to unfairly win five seats in next year’s midterm elections.”

“This is a power grab that undermines our democracy.”

Social media users promptly roasted Obama right after he posted this tweet, with many pointing out the fact that no state gerrymanders like his home state of Illinois.

Others mocked him over his rumored marriage problems and his role in the Russia Collusion Hoax.

Hey 0bama, just to let you know we’re not a democracy. We’re a constitutional republic. Go back to school for civics 101.

Yo, Obama, (if that’s your REAL name), are you going to speak out against Newscum’s plans to redraw Commiefornia’s districts?

Of course this is gaming / manipulating things.

BUT, what is good for the goose...

You can’t have it both ways and the Democrats from what I have seen are far better (better grass roots mobilization and organization) and nastier (stick together and willing to play lawfare etc) at these games than the Republicans or what you see in Texas.

If Obama and the Democrats have a problem with this, no problem, I agree, let’s stop all these games. Let’s start with California and fix things there!

Isn’t there a pending Supreme Court case which may knock out gerrymandering to meet race objectives?

“This is a power grab that undermines our democracy.”

WOW, how thoughtful and creative, I only heard this from Democrats this year 5 million times.

“This is a power grab that undermines our democracy.”

In a democracy, the majority rules. The majority need not concern itself with the views, opinions or rights of the minority.

In a democracy, the majority can do what it wants regardless of how it affects the minority.

Be careful of what you wish for because sometimes you get it.

How about this? Obama whined that the duly elected Texas majority is performing the duties which voters and Texas laws empower them to perform by complaining that the move “undermines our democracy”.

Excuse me, but which side is “undermining our democracy”?

Excuse me, but which side is “undermining our democracy”?

The side that doesn't allow their registered voters to vote and select their Presidential candidate; Harris.

Seeing how Obama represented Kenya, the country of his birth and Indonesia, where he was raised, his opinion about districts in the United States means nothing.

Yep. His mojo is fading, as both his party and the MSM continues to implode. I applaud daily and pray for more self destruction on their parts. Lies, deceit and fraud eventually catch up with even the most adept users of those satanic tools.

Not sure about that. I don't think The Constitution specifies how a State draws its electoral map. Or, even if it did, what is to stop demonicRATS from ignoring it?

The Constitution requires every state to have a "republican" form of government. Commiefornia does not.

Here in Northern Commiefornia where I live, we have one State Senator who represents 11 Counties. LA County alone has 12 Senators.

In a republican form of government, each County would have the same number of Senators.

The irony is, our state flag reads, "the republic of California"

Both Obama and Holder have come out of hiding on this.
They are VERY scared.
