Elon Musk donates $5 million to Trump super PAC, despite public rows

The X platform owner previously served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and left the White House in May to comply with his limited term as a special government employee.

esla founder Elon Musk gave $5 million to the MAGA Inc. super PAC in late June amid his public disagreements with President Donald Trump and a series of high-profile exchanges.

Musk also gave $5 million to the Senate Leadership Fund and Congressional Leadership Fund, The Hill reported, citing campaign finance filings. The late June donations came as Trump and Musk have generally backed off from attacking one another in public.

The X platform owner previously served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and left the White House in May to comply with his limited term as a special government employee.

He has, however, expressed considerable frustration with the GOP and Trump himself over budget-related matters and even announced the formation of the "America Party" to fight for stronger budgeting.

But Musk has generally returned to his operations at X and Tesla and has largely opted to promote new developments at the companies.

I think Musk didn’t realize the rescission bills were separate from the big beautiful budget.

“...Senate Leadership Fund and Congressional Leadership Fund...”

A seven-word oxymoron, who knew there was such a thing.

I’m always suspicious of political drama.

Was the Trump/Musk breakup real, or just a diversion.... a shiny object, manufactured for the predictable response from the media?

I keep telling my leftist family and friends back in the northeast to be careful what they wish for. Leftists obsessed with Epstein might wish that door stayed closed.

PACs are a scam, no sane person should give money to any of them. Musk should know better.

So was I. That “feud” was nothing more than red meat for the rabid left, while Trump continued to get things done.

Elon just got $29. Billion from Tesla recently. He doesn’t take a salary, but does get compensated for the work he does. So whatever he had for $$ previously, he now has $29 billion more if hesee demand don’t try to prevent him from getting it like they did once before.

Musk was taking a major hit on his businesses and public image, like so many others, simply by openly supporting PDJT.

I think they both concluded that it be best that they went their separate ways, publicly at least.

And, really, how much do you hear about Musk these days, compared to the first few months of the Trump administration?

So, mission accomplished.

~~~
That was my suspicion back when it was happening. All the drama was intentional.
Musk set up Doge and did his work. He needed to save his image and his publicly traded companies.
Did you notice a lot less news about Tesla dealerships and cars being vandalized lately?
This whole Trump/Musk drama was engineered from the start. Get along, not get along, get along etc... was designed to control public perception and get things done. Just like soaps and reality tv, it is all scripted, but people buy into the drama lock, stock and barrel.
Trump is better at the media game than the media is. The media can only tear down those which it builds up. Trump isn’t part of that equation.
When Senate Majority Leader Thune talks about another “continuing resolution”, Musk must be reconsidering his donation. I contacted the RNC and told them it’s a “BUDGET”, stupid!
29 B. I honestly cannot imagine what that would be like. It is so much money it would be all you could do to remain tethered to the real world
