Stephen Miller accuses India of financing Russia’s war in Ukraine

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller accused India of effectively funding Russia’s war in Ukraine by continuing to purchase Russian oil, despite U.S. tariffs imposed in response.

“What [Trump] said very clearly is that it is not acceptable for India to continue financing this war by purchasing the oil from Russia,” Miller stated.

“People will be shocked to learn that India is basically tied with China in purchasing Russian oil. That’s an astonishing fact,” he added in a Sunday Fox News appearance.

Miller’s comments were in reference to a series of Truth Social posts President Donald Trump made at the end of July, arguing that India has “always bought a vast majority of their military equipment from Russia, and are Russia’s largest buyer of ENERGY, along with China, at a time when everyone wants Russia to STOP THE KILLING IN UKRAINE — ALL THINGS NOT GOOD!”

President Trump went on to reveal that India will subsequently pay a 25% tariff, “plus a penalty” for their purchases of Russian energy and military equipment, which went into effect at the beginning of August.

“And I’m sure Iran is somewhere in the mix too!”

Along with Europe, who’s buying HUGE QUANTITIES of Diesel from India...made from that same Russian Urals-Grade Crude. And the US, as we continue to buy Titanium and Uranium from Russia (although not much else).

Pretty much EVERYONE is helping Russia!

Maybe Mr. Miller should learn a thing or two about national sovereignty.

The average Indian is probably smart enough to ask why anyone in India should GAF about what the U.S. thinks about Russia-India trade relations when NASA just launched a Space-X rocket with a joint American-Russian crew to the International Space Station two days ago.

I don’t think the United States needs to make another enemy in the world namely India.

But I suspect President Trump is leaning heavily towards India’s arch enemy Pakistan right now.

The guy who really runs Pakistan the Chief of Staff of the military had lunch with Trump at the White House in June.

Pakistan borders Iran on the east and I think hostility to India and friendliness to Pakistan part of a US-Israeli strategy for regime change in Iran.

What?

Miller is simply criticizing India.

The Russians are selling more oil to India as EU buys less oil from Russia.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there are drone attacks on Russian ports or mining of ports if status quo continues. Mining shipping channels leading to ports, choke points deployed by drones from surface ships or subs.

A less provocative approach could be cyberattacks on ports and navigation systems as well as jamming of navigation systems of tankers near ports. More deniability. As long as insurance rates go up for Russian oil sales and India seeks alternative sources.

We’ve been funding and supplying Ukraine with weapons and billions of unaccounted-for tax dollars to fight yet another proxy war with Russia these past three years.

You do realize there are no alternative sources?

All those other producers already have customers. They aren’t going to backstab them to sell to India, and even if they did such a thing, those backstabbed customers have to have oil too. They would get it from Russia.

This is the whole matter. HAVE TO HAVE. Oil is life. There is no oil sitting out there waiting for a customer. Consumption exceeded supply last year, with the difference being on ships enroute.

As for Russian export facilities, the largest is north of St Petersburg on the Gulf of Finland. But the others add up to more than the Primorsk port and those others are strewn across the north coast of the Arctic (with their fleet of icebreakers to open lanes) and then about 10 or 15 around Vladivostok and Sakhalin.

You can certainly sink those tankers in the Pacific, but it will require President Trump to decide the US must explicitly attack Russian shipping, likely escorted by attack subs.

We may as well stop trading with everyone except Europe, Japan, Australia and South Korea.

Most the world is NOT on board with our sanctions. See map above.

The “world” our MSM keeps talking about is basically the US empire, where we are the hegemon.

“The world sanctioning Russia.” That’s just one of those things our media kept saying over and over and people believe, but not even our neighbor and NAFTA member Mexico is sanctioning Russia.

One of a few countries. Bigger fish are:

Belarus
Cuba
Nicaragua
Venezuela
Kyrgyzstan
Pakistan
North Korea
Syria
China

Not in any order to make one think who gives the most.

You might want to expand your list a little bit (all nations in grey):

Egypt (a regional ally)
India (one of the world’s bigger economies)
Mexico our neighbor and a NAFTA nation.
Brazil another major economy on the world stage.

Just creating a list of places you don’t like don’t do it justice.

Most the world is not on board with our sanctions. That’s just something our media said repeatedly.

The most recent American Conservative podcast discusses India.

The speakers observe that Americans like to think of India as a democratic American ally, a counterweight to China. But that was never the case. India is not really democratic.

India has always tried to balance its relations between Russia, China, and America; trading with all three, and trying to avoid getting pulled into a war by any of them.
