Victor Davis Hanson: Will Democrats Admit Where They Went Wrong in Post-2024 Autopsy? Likely Not.

What is the Democrat Party’s long-term strategy? They ran Joe Biden as their presidential candidate, then installed Kamala Harris as his replacement despite not winning even one delegate, and has since relied on radical party bosses and unpopular policies to combat Trump’s win.

On this week’s episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words,” Hanson breaks down the party’s post-2024 election autopsy and explains why they’re doomed to fail if they continue on their trajectory.

“ After the defeat of Kamala Harris in November 2024, the Democrats decided recently to run an autopsy, a discovery, so to speak, of why they lost that election. These autopsies are not uncommon for the losing political party, but they only tend to work if you're honest and you try to analyze every considerable factor or criterion without censorship or without fear.

They didn't have issues and policies that reflected their core values, but would also appeal to the middle class. …

They don't want to talk about the middle class because their policies—open borders, The Green New Deal, Critical Race Theory, Critical Legal Theory, defund the police—all that have to be rejected because they're anathema to the middle class. They won't do it.”

See it their way.

They didn’t “go wrong”. The voters went wrong.

They believe they need to make the voters realize they are wrong.

The DumboRATS have shifted into full retard mode. They can’t tell that they are screwing up. They’re like the Walking Dead. They haven’t a clue what they are doing. They still believe that the moron portion of this country want’s a VooDoo HooDoo Queen from Jamaica to be the President of the United States. That’s proof that the people living here are doing way too many “recreational drugs.”

They’ll focus upon taking down everything Trump is trying to do instead, and then blame him for the resulting problems.

They’re painted into a corner. As has become their habit, they’ve convinced their simpleton imbecile base that each of these wuakfiies as one of the Brest civil rights issues of the day, no reasonable person can disagree, and every day is Selma. A couple have tried to back away from trans a little bit, but the wholesale retreat on these issues that is needed for them tonight themselves is simply impossible to pull off

Of course not. If they cared about truth they wouldn’t be Democrats in the first place.

True. You hit nail on the head, figuratively speaking.

Obama was once asked about his biggest disappointment or failure as president. And he said his biggest problem was just not being able to explain to the American people, and communicate with the American people. about his policies and his goals.

To a liberal such as Obama, there is no issue with his policies or political ideology. They see the problem as the American people, just not understanding the joys of obamacare, or the joys of transgender surgeries, or the euphoria we should feel about open borders.

We’re just lucky Biden didn’t step down and make her POTUS, last summer.

I believe the puppeteer had somebody else in mind to run in place of Joe and the Biden family threw him a curve by announcing Kamala as his replacement on the ticket before he could make his move.

It is a good analysis of Democrats problem, but one thing he got wrong was the anointment of Kamala Harris as the Democratic canidate after Biden was pushed out.

Pelosi and the Dem leaders had a plan to have an open vote for a new canidate at their Convention. While Kamala would be on the vote ballot, they were going to ensure she didn’t win as they knew she was a certain loser. I don’t know who they had picked to be the canidate but it wasn’t Kamala.

Biden screwed up their plans by endorsing Kamala hours after being forced out. That left no way for the Dems to get rid of a black(?) woman as the canidate.

Before she was announce some Dems were claiming that if anyone other than Harris was selected the money contributed to the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign would not be allowed to be spent. Of course, this relies on the claimants being accurate, the Dems not cheating and the political hacks in the FEC, DOJ and the courts actually enforcing it.

I wouldn't have put it past them to run Whitmer in Biden's place, with Hochul as her running mate.

That's as far away from a Trump ticket as they could get.

If your specialty is re-imagining, deflecting blame, and framing everything to fit your world view, honest introspection can be impossible to accomplish. Harris managed to drop $1.2 b-b-billion in 107 days and the donors are really not interested in self-comforting fiction.

"Will Democrats Admit Where They Went Wrong in Post-2024 Autopsy?"

To do that the Demonicrats would have to admit that they are traitors to the United States of America.

Even if Biden didn’t endorse Kamala, if the dems started setting up a real primary, the identity politics fanatics would have gone ape.

VDH is, as usual, right on. The Dims will never admit anything that reflects badly upon them.

They’re screwed but we must deal with the damage they have caused and will continue to cause.

They must be minimized and eliminated.
