A Washington couple accused of attempting an 'honor killing' by trying to strangle their teenage daughter outside a suburban high school have both been found not guilty of attempted murder.
Ihsan and Zahraa Ali stood trial for the shocking broad-daylight attack last fall outside Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington State where prosecutors said the pair tried to kill their 17-year-old daughter after she refused an arranged marriage.
After three days of deliberations, jurors convicted Ihsan Ali of assault and unlawful imprisonment.

Think of the defense argument: “Emmett Till was involved in a brawl that resulted in an honor death.”

I have followed this trial everyday. I can’t believe those monsters got off. That poor girl is going to be looking over her shoulder for years. Don’t be shocked if you read about him trying to do it again. The look on the father’s face is frightening. He’s just furious.
The judge would not let the prosecutor bring in the part about the arranged marriage or that it was an honor killing. So the jury only heard that the girl didn’t want to go on the family trip to Iraq because she didn’t feel safe. They did allow her to say she only had a one way ticket.
No matter what that video and the eye witness testimony should have been enough.
Now the mother is saying she loves her daughter and they just want her to come home. Yeah. 😆

While on the stand, she should have blurted that all out while she had the chance. All the defense could do is ask for a mistrial. Ok, then the next hearing, she does the same.
