LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas police on Wednesday charged a 28-year-old man in the killing of a married couple who were hiking with their children at Devil’s Den State Park, finding him in a nearby town after a five-day search and public pleas for trailgoers to look through their photos.
State Police arrested Andrew James McGann, of Springdale, at a barbershop in the town, said Col. Stacie Rhoads, commander of the department’s criminal investigation division. McGann was charged with two counts of capital murder. Police would not say what the motive was.
McGann had recently moved to the area and was working at a school, according to authorities, though they did say not in what job.
A lawyer couldn’t be located for McGann, and a message was left for a number listed for him. He was being held in the Washington County jail Wednesday. It was not immediately clear when his first court appearance was.
“If you commit a violent, senseless act here in our state, our law enforcement will hunt you down and bring you to justice, because that’s what the people of Arkansas frankly deserve,” Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said a news conference Wednesday night.

Wow, did not see that one coming.
I had only heard of Devil’s Den in Florida.
We agree on that. Time for a serious accident.
I fear no death penalty and a very long legal process. Defense will claim not premeditated because he was supposedly random.
Everybody should be wary of anybody that is a male teaching grade school. Signals, don’t ignore them.
Channel 11 out of Little Rock says the mom took the girls to the car then went back to help her husband.
Just why?
“Possible motive: the perp is pervert who wanted to kidnap the victims’ children”
Sounds like it.
There are nests of these perverts in the schools all over the country.
Oregon is full of them. They busted a whole ring of them at a single school system on the north coast.
The educational hiring system is pretty inept.
They should be able to weed these perverts out before they hire them.

Yep!
There is a mountain range in NM, the Devil’s Backbone.
It is in isolated area, It is simply a geological formation.
I trust an AR jury to deliver an appropriate verdict.
Yet he ad duct tape over his license plate which would indicate he planned this out.
My best, wisest, most caring teacher was a black man when I was in fourth grade. He was built like a football linebacker, and his parents were sharecroppers in the deep south. He told us his experiences with no ranker, teaching us only to respect ourselves and respect others. He changed who I am for the better and I am thankful for his role in shaping me!
Sangre de Christo. Great hunting if you can afford the tags.
We also have a devils backbone in TX.
I did not know that.
I drove through the Devil’s Backbone in NM every week on business for 14 years. I traveled out of Silver City, NM. (Southern NM and South Eastern AZ)
It’s actually a road, a 50 something mile loop near Canyon Lake in the hill country. It’s scenic, but not like the Sangre deChristos.
OK.
Thanks.
I will do some homework and possibly I can go visit that formation.
It is much lower in altitude than the one in NM.
I lived at 6,000+ ft for a long time when I was in NM. It is amazing how much temperature drops with 1,000 foot higher point.
Many years ago I worked on a very tall TV tower in OK for 2 weekends. Up to the 1350 foot level. On a hot day I needed a jacket. And “such” and incredible view.
I have photos of those days.
There are exceptions to everything. You can always find them if you look hard enough. My favorite 6th grade teacher was also the coach for flag football and most other outside activities, he also taught science and filled in as principal whenever the designate was away. I still have my little electric motor made from galvanized sheet metal in his class, that is from nearly 60 years ago. He also had a nice truck farm and grew wonderful watermelons in the summer using an Allis-Chalmers Model G tractor. I never forgot how impressed I was with that tractor and have one myself now. He was also a great exception. So yes, there are exceptions to most rules.
Planned the act but not the target, so they say. I suspect that is correct.
There is Devils Kitchen Lake, in Southern Illinois. (It’s a very beautiful lake.)
Send this demon back to hell.
