Tiran was my favorite of the Doobies, definitely in my Top Five all-time bass players. It’s not the Doobies without him.
20 years ago one of my friends noticed how Tiran Porter was working that bass and remarked such to me.
I've been anxious to visit up that way one of these days to see what it all looks like now. I'm sure I won't recognize a thing. 😆
I see one listed at 1205 Sheffield. Maybe a new location?
Yes, there have been lots of changes even since I have been around here. When I have gone back to the neighborhood where I grew up, almost nothing is the same. A strange feeling.
Sheffield Avenue? Yep, definitely a new location, right across the street from what used to be a Strack and VanTils, or was it a Jewel/Osco? I don’t remember, but only six blocks from where I spent my teenage years! It even has the same logo on its sign. Wow!
Ya, i been on several but they tend to overload the thing.
Thats why i watch the lower 48 one. It still alerts worldwide and there is none of the cramped bells and whistles.
But, whatever a person wants. Thats their business.
Keep an eye out hey? Never know whats gonna happen..
All of the Boz’s I am aware of have kept the old style signage.
I had PBS on. They played a soundbyte of a Hawaiian tsunami warning...”Get as high as possible.”
I didn’t know they were even in operation, but I’m glad to see that it is. I’ll have to tell my sister cuz she worked at the one in Schererville when she was in high school.
They have quite a few locations in southern Lake County and the south Chicago suburbs, and even as far out as Kankakee and Morris.
That’s wild. I had no idea. I thought it just a local yoko who set up a shop in Schererville all those years ago.
