Democrat Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett threatened to bar The Atlantic from publishing a profile about her after a reporter for the outlet reached out to several of her congressional colleagues without her permission.
The Atlantic’s Elaine Godfrey reached out to dozens of Democrat congressmen, including members of the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees, to give insight on Crockett for the lengthy profile, according to The Atlantic’s profile on the congresswoman. Four days before the profile’s publication, Crockett reportedly “expressed frustration” when she learned that Godfrey had spoken to her colleagues without informing her first and threatened to shut the interview down in its entirety.
“As for her colleagues, four days before this story was published, Crockett called me to express frustration that I had reached out to so many House members without telling her first. She was, she told me, ‘shutting down the profile and revoking all permissions,'” Godfrey wrote.
Thirteen members of the Oversight and Judiciary Committees, along with 20 Democrats, either did not respond or declined to comment, Godrey wrote. Among those who did respond was Democratic Texas Rep. Julie Johnson, who said that while her fellow members do not “necessarily agree with her aggressive communication style,” she is “thrilled” with Crockett.
Senior staffers for three Democrat congressional members said that Crockett’s colleagues view her as “undisciplined,” but they refrain from expressing their opinions publicly, according to Godfrey’s profile.
Crockett is reportedly “highly conscious” of her outward appearance and even has a headshot of herself as her phone lock screen, according to The Atlantic. The rowdy congresswoman further complained that her party should have rallied behind her to become the next chairwoman of the Oversight Committee because she has one of the “largest social media following[s].”
While Godfrey interviewed Crockett at the Waldorf hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, the congresswoman called one of her staffers right in front of her and scolded him for an “unclear note” on her schedule. She also rebuked an aide for bringing her a paper bag full of food that supposedly looked like “crap.”
After she and other black students allegedly received “racist threats” at Rhodes College, Crockett also claimed that a black, female attorney from the Cochran Firm became her “shero” after she supposedly represented her and other students, according to The Atlantic. Despite idolizing the attorney, the congresswoman could not recall her name, nor could the Cochran Firm recall an incident where any of their staff worked on a case with Crockett.
BTTT
There’s our answer my friends. Keep pushing their buttons to where their foot-in-mouth disease gets exposed. The Atlantic is not going to do a ‘60 Minutes’ and cover for her. Most of the leftist rags won’t.
Why would she think her social media following would qualify her to chair a committee?
What an ignoramus.
Nonsense; she's as calculating as hell.
Why would she think a journalist (ok, a pseudo-journalist from the Atlantic) would need her permission to talk to anyone for the article?
Controlling the media - the Democrats’ dream scenario.
Jazzy is a wild woman who has a grudge demanding total control.
Sponsor of an unaccompanied illegal alien minor(s) ?
That should be looked into.
But, but, but. Freedom of the press! Freedom of speech!
Am I right, Stephen Colbert!? Up high! ✋️
Black communities have historically been full of con artists and grifters, just like white communities. Crockett should be no surprise.
Crockett is an American treasure and will be good to have her around for many years. Her opponents have a lot of fun at her expense.
Every time I see Jazzy I think of Jerry Springer.

Prima Donna. Certainly not a serious person. I am so disappointed that so many black folks allow themselves to be bamboozled at the ballot box. It seems they’ll vote race, most of the time, no matter what.

She thinks really highly of herself, doesn’t she. Does anyone have any doubt that she probably calls herself Queen Jasmine in her own mind? I sure don’t.

i believe you answered your own question!
Sorry, m’dear, a large set of OnlyFans subscribers isn’t a qualification for office.
Because her corner of the House is really just middle school.
