The Trump administration released a huge batch of previously classified documents on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination on Monday as Americans clamor for information about Jeffrey Epstein.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) was publishing 230,000 pages worth of documents relating to the civil rights leader's April 1968 assassination.
The release was in accordance with Donald Trump's executive order earlier this year mandating the release of files on former President John F. Kennedy, former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and MLK.
The release comes as the Trump administration has been dealing with a growing contingent of discontented MAGA devotees who are determined to see additional files on the deceased sex offender.
'The American people have waited nearly sixty years to see the full scope of the federal government's investigation into Dr. King's assassination,' Gabbard said in a statement.
'Under President Trump's leadership, we are ensuring that no stone is left unturned in our mission to deliver complete transparency on this pivotal and tragic event in our nation's history,' she continued. 'I extend my deepest appreciation to the King family for their support.'
Dr. Alveda King, the niece of MLK, celebrated the release.
'I am grateful to President Trump and DNI Gabbard for delivering on their pledge of transparency in the release of these documents on the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr,' she said in a statement.
'My uncle lived boldly in pursuit of truth and justice, and his enduring legacy of faith continues to inspire Americans to this day. While we continue to mourn his death, the declassification and release of these documents are a historic step towards the truth that the American people deserve.'

The answer is yes. Kash thought he had given all the files to Bondi. When she found out the SDNY under Maurene Comey still had thousands of more, Bondi demanded they be delivered to her the next morning by 8am. I’m betting they got destroyed by Comey after her news conference so they could damage Bondi. Now Bondi is in between a rock and a hard place. They made it where she can’t deliver. They have the only option and that’s release the Grand Jury documents which is limited to prosecuting Epstein.

King was on my Chicago WestSide while I was in Nam. I came back to Chicago 2 months before he was assasinated... not in Chicago.

The head of the Chciago Housing Authority, Charlie Swibel, who owned many slum buildings, burned more and collected more insurance than anyone else.
Maxwell’s criminal trial files are still court sealed pending appeals. Some of the civil trials/settlements stuff was just recently ordered released.
Sort of glad we haven’t gotten everything on Epstein.

I was six years old when King was killed, so I don’t have much memory of it. But, I have wondered where the Civil Rights movement might have gone had he lived.

Trump has a weakness for beautiful women who have some brains and are loyal to him. He made a few bad choices in his first administration. This time, it seems, only one.
Perhaps Bondi has learned that her job is not to be on Fox News, but to be getting the job done back at the DOJ. The entire Epstein kerfuffle could’ve been avoided except for her statements.

Given how the deep state went after Trump, it's caused me to rethink any dirt the federal govt made public about anyone in the past. Including dirt on MLK that the CIA had on him -- especially given how much RFK Sr and the other Dims were against blacks having equal rights. (Note I said "equal rights", not "equal outcomes", which is an entirely different thing.)

The problem with this issue is that it is simple to resolve. It’s like asking someone what is essentially a rhetorical question and yet they can’t answer it. And the longer they stall, the worse they look. I question ALL authority, even Trump and his staff. The only perfect man to ever exist was hung on a cross.
We need to see the files. And the longer they stonewall, the more people are going to lose trust in his administration. I’m not saying that as someone that never trusted him. I’m saying that more like a husband asking his wife (who he loves deeply and trusts) for a simple explanation of “certain odd charges” on her credit card on a business trip with her boss. And she is not answering.
That is concerning to any reasonable person. It pushes the limits of “trust”.
