Things are growing along with the weeds. It rained every day for a while with just enough rain to keep things alive. It was cooler today than the high heat we have been having. Don’t know why it cooled down.

...for conspicuous gallantry on Peleliu in September 1944
lead his men in an assault on a strategic hill,
and held it, with rocks and bare fists
when ammunition ran low,
against Japanese suicide attacks.
What a brave hero...and he lived a good long life!
