House gives final approval to Trump’s $9 billion cut to public broadcasting and foreign aid

The House gave final approval to President Donald Trump’s request to claw back about $9 billion for public broadcasting and foreign aid early Friday as Republicans intensified their efforts to target institutions and programs they view as bloated or out of step with their agenda.

The vote marked the first time in decades that a president has successfully submitted such a rescissions request to Congress, and the White House suggested it won’t be the last. Some Republicans were uncomfortable with the cuts, yet supported them anyway, wary of crossing Trump or upsetting his agenda.

The House passed the bill by a vote of 216-213. It now goes to Trump for his signature.

“We need to get back to fiscal sanity and this is an important step,” said House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Funny how this is the only source I can find on the Rescission bill passing. Nothing else but old news pops up when I did a google search to find out if they voted yet.

No, PBS will not be gone.

There is no bill out there that will abolish the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

So we just have to wait for 2028 for this temporary lull to be reversed.

Trump is elected
Brings on Elon and Big Balls to perform audits
DOGE uncovers waste and redundant spending
Cabinet and Department heads submit these to Congress for removal
Congress says yes to the claw backs
Oh look no King involved, just the process of a duly elected, representative government...America is a great place even if the process does move slow.

Wonder how long it will take a lowly federal district judge to rule the taxpayers must continue funding NPR and PBS.

$9 billion is less than the Deep State’s petty cash fund.

I hope they cut every dime of each one of these giveaways in another rescissions bill. We’ve sent enough money overseas and we are broke. Cut the deficit for a change.
