I think this is true of most professions.
Medical tech does not advance so fast that AI can’t assist in a vast majority of cases, including cancer diagnosis, which it is already doing.
Same for the legal profession.
As far as software is concerned, the biggest problem is not writing code, it’s understanding the problem and detailed requirements - neither are often well defined by the customer (in my 35 years of software engineering).
Yes, AI is just getting started but the gloom and doom is not likely. It’ll enable more skills to more people and just accelerate many industries.
We might need some safeguards for entry level jobs, we can just cut off the bottom of the ladder.

Until they can figure out how to make IA stop making up cases and precedent, I don’t think it’s gonna be a big issue for paralegals.

It was said over a century ago that America would be doomed if the ‘buggy whip’ went extinct. AI will have ups and downs for the foreseeable future, but it’s kind of worthless (politically speaking) until it cuts the federal bureaucracy by 2/3. Notice no one in gummit at any level is talking about this.
And DoGE is the first place to put it and this agency has a limited time.

I agree. The world has been in a constant state of flux due to tech technological change for the last several centuries. Workers of today need to adapt, the same way workers of the past couple of centuries have had to adapt. Those who cannot adapt are going to be much worse off. People need to engage in lifetime learning, learning that isn’t by accident, but is done on purpose with a specific goal of continuing to enhance their value to either an employer or two their customers or clients. In the presence environment, it is critical for anybody who is a knowledge-based worker to at least learn the basics of how to utilize AI to become more productive and to serve the customers or clients of their business more effectively.
