Republican House Majority Leader Steve Scalise helped to gain an Iranian woman’s release from Immigration and Customs Enforcement after he advocated for her.

Mandonna “Donna” Kashanian, 64, has been living in the U.S. for 47 years. Her husband, Russell Milne, and daughter, Kaitlynn Milne, are both U.S. citizens.

The article doesn't mention her marriage fraud from the 1980's.

Wasn’t she still married at the time of her arrest?

Steve, get a hold of yourself. If you want people to call you “a Hero”, there are better ways to get that praise. What are you doing?

She either has...or hasn’t...violated US immigration/residency/labor laws or she hasn’t. Let’s see *all* the evidence.

It certainly seems that in her 47 years residing in the US that her spouse would’ve made an attempt to petition for her to get permanent resident status. That is, of course, there is something that has prevented him from doing so. Marriage fraud cases carry a lifetime ban if it is proven. Yes, she’s not a criminal just low hanging fruit. I wonder what brought her to ICE attention. It seems unusual that non crims like her would be targeted, but we don’t have the entire story. My guess and only a guess, is that she may have been required to check in periodically with ICE as many non detained cases are and somehow ended up in custody.

Of the millions of recent illegal immigrants, many of them criminals, they have to go after someone that’s been here for 47 years, has kids born here, married to an American and probably loves this country.

This is what one would call asinine, a waste of resources and doesn’t help Ices reputation.

Glad Scalise got her released.

Enough with the sad stories, everyone has had a tough time. Send her out of here. She predates the Reagan 86 amnesty and the rest that followed. I have zero pity for people who have chosen to break our laws for decades.

Off topic, but I’ll bring it up here. The administration would help itself by setting up a lottery for those that self deport - maybe 10,000 per year; but they have to be clean. No marriage fraud, no illegal IDs, etc. Could probably get a lot more of the GOOD people to self deport, If they knew there was a path back.

ie; my neighbor’s mother in law, doesn’t work, but watches the grand kids - over stayed her visa - she’s not a burden on the system, or a threat. Probably a lot more like her.

That’s one thing that is unique about illegal aliens, they all come with bags of sob stories. They just didn’t bring any “due process” with them.

To be fair, I would have committed marriage fraud in to avoid being sent back to Iran in the 80’s. No sane woman wants to live under the mullahs.

“Enough with the sad stories,”

Yes. Forty-seven effing years to become a citizen? Sorry. She needs to GTFO.

This kind of action is what it will take to create a cautionary tale to others. It lets people know PDJT is serious.

Does the scofflaw speak English? And I bet that she’s a burden in the system in some way.

"and probably loves this country."

If she loved this country, she would have taken the steps to become a citizen, not avoid it for 47 years. Anybody that came here illegally, and said they came here for a better life, part of that better life is petitioning to become a U.S. Citizen.

You bet she is. She walked over other people's backs that had been waiting in line ahead of her.

She broke the law for 47 years. You don’t do for one, what you can’t or won’t do for all. Once you make an exception for one, you end up having to make exceptions for more, and it turns into a nasty cycle, which is what we’ve had here for decades.
