“They were clever attacks, but all they really managed to do in the final analysis was to increase Russia’s resolve, with the goal now being to eliminate the Ukrainian threat forever more.”

Putin always wanted ALL of Ukraine. But Zelensky outsmarted him.

Now that the war has been unexpectedly extended, Putin is in a corner.

His war economy is crumbling. The reserve fund has been depleted. The oligarchs are growing restless.

Whatever tricks David had up his sleeve won’t work as well as the fight rages on.

David’s “trick” was God was on his side. And, no matter how long the fight might last, if God is with you, none dare be against you.

Russia, otoh, has Putin and he sure as hell ain’t no god, no matter what his worshipers here might say.

Their tiny Goliath putin is the "uncircumcised Philistine" in that story and definitely not a god.

I know that has always been your belief, but you can provide no evidence to support that belief.

I have posted sites analyzing Putin’s failed invasion.

I haven’t seen your analysis of how Putin captured Kiev in three days.

Russia is in no big hurry to destroy Kyiv regime. there is no reason to hurry and there is no dead line. Slow and methodical destruction of buildings is good way to demoralize the people who elected Zelvis who cancelled elections in democracy of Ukraine.

Simple reason Sherlock! US tax money is not going to Russia. Only Ukraine is sucking at the tit of US taxpayers.

“Russia is in no big hurry to destroy Kyiv regime. “

LOL! Putin planned that Kiev would be taken in three days.

Now he is bogged down in a drawn out war with the economy collapsing and the reserve fund having been depleted.

The gravy train has left.

Ya’ll thought that Russia would roll right over Ukraine. Everyday this drags on the people are getting more tired of it and Ukraines’ confidence goes up.

I never said that Russia would capture Kyiv in 3 days.

I said that Russia would, in the end, win the conflict if it is allowed to continue on until finding a peaceful solution becomes impossible. I thought it would have been quicker than it was, and it would have been if Ukraine had stood alone.

Russia does not capitulate because their citizens offer up complaints, which is why the U.S. loses almost of the kinetic engagements they engage in, especially if they are protracted due to lack of real commitment to secure a decisive victory.

But also, we no longer fight wars to defeat a threat. We fight wars in order for the rich to become richer from the military-industrial-government complex, and the middle-class dwindles as the poor class expands.

Of course, people like you never get wise to the game, or you profit from the game, which is why we get so involved in far too many conflicts.

Again, this conflict could have completely been avoided by simply pulling NATO expansion off the table. Which of course you also ignore with your retorts.

It was a major geopolitical blunder that was doomed for failure when it was conceived, because the brightest amongst us, really are not the brightest at all. Especially when it comes to waging a kinetic conflict, even as the proxy. They thought they had a winner here because there would be minimal involvement by our young military men & women, and thus, no body bags. They didn't realize that the out-of-control debt would evoke the same kind of rebuke as did growing numbers of body bags in past conflicts had provided.

Like I said, our brightest are not that at all. They are the most politically connected, period. All part of that DEI/Nepotic hierarchy that has replace the meritocracy standard we used to construct what once was but is no more, a strong prosperous nation.

> Are you kidding me? Russia INVADED Ukraine. Quit blaming the victim.

Russia will eventually take Ukraine because it can.

The world is , has and always will be ruled by brute force, and Putin correctly calculated that he can outlast any Ukrainian resistance because of the significant number of pro Russian sympathizers who live there combined with the relative insignificance of Ukraine to the West.

If you don't believe me, ask Poland about what happened to them during WWII

This is the exact opposite of the situation with Taiwan.

“I never said that Russia would capture Kyiv in 3 days.”

I never said you did but when Putin attacked the Putin cheerleaders here were all claiming Zelensky would be flying out of Kiev and Kiev would fall in days.

Putin planned to have Zelensky executed and take the Kiev airbase on day one.

Zelensky outsmarted him.

Now Russia is going broke on this war.

Again, you call us Putin cheerleaders, but that is not the case at all. We saw a terribly mismatched conflict, and we also saw out fingerprints in starting this conflict.

We were concerned about the potential for a wider conflict, and more importantly, we saw that out involvement was only bringing more destruction to this nation, and unfortunately for Ukraine, their sovereignty concerns did not rise to the level of concerns for our sovereignty did for the entire world as it was heading at full speed into tyranny, not just our nation but all of the allied nations of WWII.

But again, you could net see the obvious, so you decided to call us names to make it seem as if we are not patriots. Since you were blind to out problems, it's probably not fair but accurate, to say that your loyalties laid somewhere other than in our nation. You definitely couldn't the bigger threat, nor could you see that Zelenskyy was more than willing to put Ukraine in jeopardy for he had agreed to ricking his country & her citizens in harms way on promises made by leaders who not only were allowing invasions into their nations, but actually encouraging those invasions.

Only an idiot would do so, and there were plenty of idiots involved.

We are proud that we didn't fall for the false narratives being deployed, and the propaganda that sprang up to keep up the support for a losing cause. Some still fail to see the folly of it all, not to mention the utter stupidity it took for them to not see the reality.

Some of us just like seeing Russians killed. And a lot of them have been killed.

I hope they weren’t relatives. Well, I really don’t care if they were. If they stayed in Russia…they would be alive.

Sure, if you mass forces, you’ll get pounded.

Ukraine is taking large numbers of casualties, as are the Russians.

Trump mentioned in December 400,000 Ukrainians, and nearly 600,000 Russians as total casualties.

https://ukranews.com/en/news/1051760-trump-claims-ukraine-lost-400-000-soldiers-in-war-with-russia

Ukraine needs to achieve a 1:3.5 casualty ratio just to stay equal in their decline, but the best they are accomplishing is 1.5.

Ukraine will run out of warm blood-filled bodies before the Russians.

This is a war of attrition and if it does not end, it will be who can sustain the losses longer that will win.

This is the sort of war McNamara with his numbers and kill ratios could only dream of.
