GOP Rep [Burchett] says he believes Epstein files were destroyed

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) said Wednesday he believes a client list associated with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein once existed but was “destroyed” by the Biden administration.

“I think the files existed at one time,” Burchett said in an interview on NewsNation’s “On Balance” with host Leland Vittert. “I think they were destroyed in the previous administration.”

The Justice Department (DOJ) released a memo earlier this week concluding that Epstein did not keep such a list that was allegedly used to blackmail high-profile individuals — contradicting conspiracy theories circulating for years that suggested otherwise.

They were destroyed even before the Biden Administration, heck if there was ANYTHING in there that would have incriminated Trump or any other Republican the Biden regime would have released it immediately. I think what is going on is there are foreign leaders who were associates of Epstein and that info cant come out, would ruin relationships with other countries, etc..so they cant do it. Trump doesnt seem like the person whose afraid of anything, heck this man was shot in the head and bounced right back up..Nothing scares this man, except whatever the heck was in those files, that scared him enough to want this investigation to end

A "client list" of people who travelled to his island probably exists in one for or another, or can be recreated to some extent. But such a list doesn't prove they engaged in any illegal or even immoral activities, or that they had any knowledge that underage girls were being procured.

What you would need is a much more specific "client list" of those who actually engaged in sex with underage girls. But is there any kind of evidence that kind of "client list" ever existed?

If the files had been tampered with or destroyed, why didn't AG Bondi say so? It would be understandable to blame the FBI and DOJ under Bill Barr and Merrick Garland. Instead, we get bluster and faux indignation from President Trump and AG Bondi telling a story that ranks in believability with “safe and effective” COVID shots, “two weeks to stop the spread”, Iraq's “weapons of mass destruction”, and numerous other government false narratives going back to the sinking of the battleship Maine in 1898.

The “truckloads” of evidence were destroyed?

Lol.

Republicans need to learn that when you are in a hole stop digging.

Excellent point. I believe the huge fuss over AG Bondi first saying the list was “on her desk” and then “there is no list” may have to do with the Lolita Express flight logs vs. a list of “clients” who took advantage of the underage girls on offer. That list may not exist, as Bondi said.

She did not say the list was “on her desk”. She said the file was on her desk

Or carried up into the night sky by drones during that big flurry of sightings in the Eastern US.

Bye bye.

Tim needs to call Dershowitz to testify! He knows the details. You have to get around his confidentiality issues.

Correct.

She was asked if the list was on her desk and she responded that the files were on her desk.

That is what lawyers do.

They tell the truth—with the intention of using the truth to mislead the questioner.

Did you pay any attention at all to that trial, or are you kind of just guessing what the case was based on supposition? Not even the tiniest bit of research before spouting off, eh?

Because if you would have bothered to read anything at all about that trial -- which you clearly did not -- you'd know that Maxwell wasn't convicted of providing girls to Epstein's "clients". She was convicted of providing girls to Epstein himself, that he then abused. And the evidence wasn't some "list", but rather live testimony from the four women themselves.

So an alleged "client list" had nothing to do with Maxwell's conviction. Which you would have known if you'd bother to become informed before commenting....

The famous story of J. Edgar Hoover was he held files on all the major politicians and that his trusted longtime secretary destroyed them when she heard the announcement of his death.

the man who is in a position to know threw gasoline on the fire

““Documents are being suppressed to protect individuals. I know the names of the individuals. I know why they’re being suppressed. I know who’s suppressing them. But I’m bound by confidentiality,” he said.

This bombshell comes just 24 hours after both the FBI and the Department of Justice came out and said there is no “client list.”

Epstein had video surveillance of many rooms including bathrooms and bedrooms. Why do this if he didn’t keep track of the evidence and the names of all the participants in his “guest” visits?

Whether in a cloud file, USBs, a laptop somewhere, or the physical printed binder contents.

Okay, if your theory is that Bondi deliberately lied at the time because she knew she would never release a list...why wouldn't she just say at that time "there is no list" or "I won't know what is in there until we go through all of it?"

Because your theory requires that she knowingly dug herself a hole that was completely unnecessary because she just could have buried it at the outset.
