EDISON, N.J. (PIX11) — What began as a routine workday at Alba Wine & Spirits warehouse in Edison, New Jersey, ended in fear and confusion as Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducted a raid early Tuesday morning.
According to workers and advocacy groups, ICE agents arrived around 9 a.m. and surrounded the warehouse.
“They came around 9 o’clock and went all around the building,” said Juan, a warehouse employee. “He asked for the ID or if you have something to prove you can work here.”
The organization New Labor, which assists immigrant workers and responded to the scene, alleges federal agents entered the premises with a list of employees and checked each person’s immigration status. At least 20 workers were reportedly detained, though ICE has not confirmed the total number.

This is what recovery from decades of immigration law enforcement neglect looks like.
More ICE please!
It’s about time for “workers and advocates” to surrender their jobs to illegal alien slave laborers.
Trump is simply enforcing existing law.
The left is crazy. If they don’t like the law, change the law, but don’t fault Trump for enforcing it, which is his job!
“Sparks outcry from workers”?! That makes sense, especially if the workers are illegals
Absolutely, though no reason ag and hospitality should be exempt from this.
AKA - a crime syndicate that helps illegal aliens avoid or skirt the law.
So like bank robbers or such folks should get a pass because they’re only trying to support their families or want freedom from want? I’ll bet they tithe on the money they stole and gifted some to welfare organizations. /sarc
Criminals and criminal supporters upset?
Cool!
Now start enforcing the law and fine employers who hire illegal immigrants.
Isn’t illegal alien slave laborers working at a Wine and Spirits joint like hiring child molesters to work at Disneyland?
“Advocates”.
What, exactly, are these advocates advocating for?
this is what I voted for
fine and jail
Yeah wonderful, except when will we start going after the employers - this one thumbing his nose at the law with at least 20.
Also, there's been no real effort to shut illlegals out of public benefits. Medical, school, food stamps all still free.
Our own GOP screeched about "rural hospitals" when we tried cutting medicare, so 1.4 million, instead of 14 million were supposedly outsted. Big retail makes bank off welfare and free food. We pay for it all.
Benefits and employment for illegals needs to be outlawed, or it's all just a bandaid.
I was the Sales Mgr. for a Pork packing plant in Ga. some 20+ years ago. Back then we were meticulous about making sure that our hires were legal.
HR was getting checked on a regular basis yet one illegal did slip through and get hired once. The plant Manager was alerted to the screw up and he went absolutely ballistic as he realized even one illegal on the record could get the plant placed on the “watch list”. You would have the government on your back forever after.
Man, those were the days.
Obama was doing exactly the same. It’s only harsh when Trump does it. But that list of names ICE brought with them, were undoubtedly criminals. Real murder, trafficking, child rape type criminals. Maybe someone else will get deported as well. But getting rid of the real criminals is required. And remember this is a sweatshop. If they hire a bunch of illegals they are underpaying them. They are not giving them benefits. The New York Times likes to argue sweatshop cruelty on one page and illegals being mistreated by ICE on the very next page. ICE is doing the job everyone needs done. Get rid of the gang bangers. Get rid of the sweatshops. Get rid of the traffickers.
Never mind fined, jail the MFer and end business.
Indeed MAGA
Ice ice baby!
