Zohran Mamdani built his entire political brand on being "people-powered" and "grassroots." But when you examine the actual data, a very different picture emerges.

THE SETUP: → 2.8 million Instagram followers → 1.7 million YouTube views → Extensive favorable media coverage → Professional campaign website with prominent "DONATE" button → Public appearances and interviews → Massive online reach designed to capture small-dollar donations
THE REALITY: Out of 27,674 individual contributions to Mamdani's campaign, exactly 77 had no bundler attribution — and collectively, they amounted to $0.00.
Let me repeat that: ZERO DOLLARS in organic donations.
Every single dollar of his $1.7 million in private fundraising came through political intermediaries, with 94% funneled through a single professional fundraiser.
THE TECHNICAL EVIDENCE: We examined the source code behind his donation infrastructure. His campaign website's "DONATE" button links directly to the NYC Campaign Finance Board's tracking system — a platform that distinguishes between bundled contributions and organic donations from the public.
Even his Instagram Linktree has a direct "Donate" button giving 2.8 million followers one-click access to contribute.
The tracking data doesn't lie: Despite massive public exposure across every channel, not a single person was inspired to donate organically.
THE BROADER DECEPTION: Allied PAC spending ($1.9 million) actually exceeded even his bundling operation ($1.7 million) — meaning outside political groups spent more supporting Mamdani than his supposed "grassroots" donors.
This wasn't grassroots. It was astroturfing with a professional PR campaign.
You can't call a campaign "people-powered" when 100% of your financial support comes through political intermediaries rather than from people who discovered you organically.
The revolution didn't start with a $10 donation from someone who watched a video or saw an Instagram post.

There was an article posted on here a few days ago, stating that there was a flurry of new ‘voters’ registering, supposedly just for Mamdani. I wonder if those aren’t being created, too. NY’rs better get out in droves for Adams (although I could wish it was Sliwa), or they’ll get stuck with a truly bad apple.
Debate Mamdanis policies without vitriol (I know it’s hard) because it may drive some right into his camp for spite.
IMO the way to deal with NYC turning democratic socialist is to insulate the rest of the population from their bad decisions. Avoid another 1975 crisis

Hmm.. For someone like him that managed to win a primary, I find it hard to believe that he actually has, specifically, ZERO actual donations. There’s no way thousands of people support a candidate for absolutely none of them to donate to him...?
Also, how do you have 77 donors that donated $0? That makes no sense unless you a) built your own donation submission code from scratch and b) had an idiot coding that didn’t sanitize inputs to be at least >0.

As of June 27, 2025, out of 27,674 individual contributions made to Mamdani’s campaign, exactly 77 had no bundler attribution — and collectively, they amounted to $0.00. These entries appear to be refunds, chargebacks, or bookkeeping adjustments rather than legitimate standalone donations.
