Elon Musk waded back into politics Saturday with a series of sharp social media criticisms of the Trump-backed “Big Beautiful Bill,” calling it “utterly insane” and “political suicide.”

The SpaceX CEO, who turned 54 on Saturday, expressed his frustration and rage at the massive spending bill on social media ahead of the critical vote on which the Trump agenda hinges.

“The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country!” the former DOGE chief wrote on X ahead of a Senate debate on the legislation.

“Utterly insane and destructive. It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future,” Musk concluded.

He says it will put american on the fast track to debt slavery.

He was actually kind of nice here. We’re already on the fast track to debt slavery. Obama and Biden/obama 3 did much of it in just 12 years.

The purpose of the bill is to extend the tax cuts. If it did nothing but that it would be a partial success.

No bill should be longer than 100 pages.

There is no such thing as an “industry of the past” if they are making products people need. This country needs a steel industry for example if only for the infrastructure of national defense. That doesn’t necessarily mean that it is backward.

He’s big mad that it kills the tax advantage for wind and solar. They are falsely portraying that as a “tax” on those energy sources. Wrong!

I voted for Trump, and I love what he’s doing.

That said, Elon is right here.

This big BIG BIG bill is not “beautiful.” It’s big.

If I’m not mistaken, the big beautiful bill is over 1,000 pages. Not a big fan of that.

Elon Musk: “Utterly insane and destructive. It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future."

Then he shouldn't be crying because his company apparently got left out of the handouts. They would have only pushed us even faster into debt slavery.

"There is no such thing as an “industry of the past” if they are making products people need."

His inference of that is pretty arrogant.

I’m sorry Musk expected something different. Congress is still the same cesspool, he should have known that.

In this case, the only way Trump can get his agenda through the Senate is reconciliation. Under the budget reconciliation process, the bill can pass the upper chamber with just 51 votes, rather than the usual 60 required by the filibuster rule.

So I can understand why this bill is over 1,000 pages. It would be stupid not to take advantage of the rules.

The bill is not political suicide, at least in the short term.

But the problem is the voting public.

Voters want cuts as long as their own ox isn’t being gored.

So the politicians who vote for real cuts will simply lose their jobs and be replaced by someone who’ll vote for more gimmie dats.
