The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit against Democratic Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear on Tuesday over a state rule that allows illegal immigrations to qualify for in-state tuition rates at public colleges and universities.
The lawsuit alleges that Kentucky improperly categorizes individuals in the country without legal status as state residents, thereby making them eligible for reduced in-state tuition rates, while U.S. citizens from other states must pay higher tuition. The move coincides with the Trump administration’s heightened scrutiny of jurisdictions that do not comply with federal immigration laws.
“This unequal treatment of Americans is squarely prohibited and preempted by federal law, which expressly provides that ‘an alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residence within a State . . . for any postsecondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such a benefit . . . without regard to whether the citizen or national is such a resident,’” the federal government’s complaint reads.

I have a feeling Oregon does this, too
Let’s apply that to the census and not count illegals as residents.
We need to win in 2028 to make that happen
The rats think Beshear might be the one. Somehow this rat won in Kentucky., He is rat through and through including the tranny crap.
That should piss off the Turtle.
When you realize that the KY GOP keeps putting up such ‘stalwarts’ as McTurtle and Paul.... Yeah, no wonder KY voters are turning away from the GOP.
What’s with Kentucky? The Senate and House delegates seem also against Trump Admin.
Oh I think they are all doing it.
I remember Texas A&M either giving FREE or In-State tuition to illegals... I was considering going to Mexico and coming back into the States to get my daughter reduced tuition.
“Undocumented students lose in-state tuition in Texas: What to know JUN 14, 2025
Some implications of the ruling ordering the policy’s end are still unknown. College access experts urged affected students not to withdraw from school while they assess their options.
Texas will no longer allow students living in the state who are undocumented to pay in-state tuition following demands from the Trump administration to end the policy.”

They are briar hoppers down thar. They used to date their sisters and then marry’em at 12 or 14 if the sheriff was watching. Best thing that ever came out of Kentucy was an empty buss. Just one big happy family. At least Gerogia was penal colony and some of the residents can be said to properly identify with what one would have expected of that lot of poor souls; but Kentucky is a self inflicted matter.
I am a Kentucky voter and I finally threw the towel in 4 years ago and left the GOP to become an Independent.
I hope they sue the hell out of Bolshevik Beshear.
A Kentucky republican is really what used to be a conservative democrat. Kentucky politicians wear the republican label, but they mostly don’t ascribe to republican principles. They’re big into government handouts and having government involved in everything. The present Kentucky democrat party contains the left over hard left wingers and those that are democrats because their grandfathers and great-grandfathers were democrats and it’s their legacy since the Civil War.
His opponent stood up to the teachers union and got ambushed.
