This is not an opportunity to effectuate regime change, but to simply end Iran’s nuclear program.
“The important things are always simple; the simple things are always hard.”
— Murphy’s First Law of Combat
There will never be a better time than now to end the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran. The Israelis have established air superiority over the length and breadth of Iran, and apparently are able to operate unimpeded to strike any and all targets of their choosing. The challenge for Israel lies in the choosing.
Continue an air campaign focused on eliminating Iran’s nuclear weapons program and its ballistic missile program, or expand the scope of attacks to undermine the Iranian economy and bring down the current theocratic dictatorship. Or, as part of a comprehensive regime change strategy, take on the task of eliminating Iran’s political leadership, up to and including the Ayatollah Khamenei himself. (RELATED: Iran Miscalculated. The Ayatollahs Must be Removed.)
We don’t need to make this complicated.
There seems little doubt that Israel could kill Khamenei and many among his wider circle, effectively decapitating the current regime. Donald Trump has said as much, just this afternoon on Truth Social, speaking of both Israeli and U.S. capabilities. But having this ability and acting upon it are two very different things. (RELATED: Basic Thoughts on Iran)
Those who favor a regime change strategy express an implied faith in the ability of the Iranian people to, in effect, step forward on their own initiative and create a democratic, peace-seeking alternative. There’s probably no other country in the Middle East better suited to building just an alternative, once the heavy hand of the mullahs is finally removed.
But it would have to be built — there’s no such ready-made alternative currently waiting in the wings, only...

Even if Iran had no nukes, bombing them is justified for trying to assassinate Trump.
This regime must be taken out. No other way.
We’re $37 trillion dollars in debt, the last thing we need to do is to go blow up another middle eastern country. It’s not our fight, if Israel wants to go to war then they can go ahead. We have our own problems to worry about, and furthermore Donald J. Trump is the PRESIDENT OF PEACE, not the president of war. NeoCon warmongers will be disappointed once again.
On October 23, 1983, a terrorist attack targeted the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of 241 American servicemen (220 Marines, 18 sailors, and 3 soldiers). This event, carried out by a suicide bomber driving a truck laden with explosives, was the deadliest single-day loss for the Marine Corps since World War II’s Battle of Iwo Jima.
Their blood is on the phony Mullah’s heads...
Sad but true.
It’s gonna happen. It will be Israel. We could put the finishing touches on with the bunker buster bomb but Trump would like Israel do all the heavy lifting so that we won’t have to. Simply put there’s no turning back.
So many current problems in the world follow from and are funded by the regime in Iran. The end of this regime will save us much blood and treasure.
We just want to take out Iran’s nuke program. No boots on the ground they’ve said.
Now it’s “regime change.”
But yet they still say no boots on the ground.
There’s already “Mission Creep” from the Israeli’s, they’re begging as they always do for help from the U.S., or give them $ that comes from the taxpayer thar ends up in defense contractors pockets, and this thing hasn’t really ever gotten seriously started yet.
I support “regime change”. But, that must come from within and not imposed by outside forces.
It’s not just a clever slogan. Making Iran Persia Again - would be a monumental achievement and a dramatic change in the dynamics of the Middle East.
This Israeli operation to remove Iran’s nuke threat had to be done and needs to be completed.
But make no mistake — these people ain’t going away. Israeli and the U.S. will pay a price in terrorist attacks. However I would wager it is less costly than mullah’s with nukes.
There is no fixing this. This is just the less costly option IMO. This also assumes no regime change or nation building but just nuke elimination. Installation of a new Iranian government is probably another ‘Iraq’.
Arak heavy water complex going to be hit right now, IDF evac warning
When is the best time to plant a tree? Same answer to the title question.
Good.
No longer “we break we fix it” ... more like “we break it, they fix it and years later we break it again”.
When these operations are required like the one now in Iran they must find a way to get it done fast because most of our people are soft and impatient.
Get it done in hours before there is even time to foster a lot of resistance by the Left and UN. Overwhelming force and then done. Sounds ugly but there are times when diplomacy fails and force is the only option ... like Iran.
I would really like the Iranian people step up and set their new course.
“There will never be a better time than now to end the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran.”
I find it difficult to believe that anyone thinks that Iran doesn’t ALREADY have atomic weapons. They’ve been enriching uranium for 40 YEARS. They probably have enough fissionible material for dozens of bombs. Constructing the casing is not that difficult. Many years ago a Princeton student built one in his spare time for a science project. An expert said that with fissionable material the design would have worked. Surely the Iranians could do the same.
I heard an audio of BiBi from thirty years ago saying Iran was "weeks away" from the bomb.
As far as I know that is never been proven, and we don’t even know if that’s true.
Why would they want to assassinate Trump?
We have learned nothing from history particular World War II have we?
Bombing alone will not win a war that has been proven over over and over again.
The only way you can make sure is to put an army on the ground and go ahead and where would we stage an army to go into Iran? We would need at least 300,000 troops if not more we would be fighting in a terrain vastly different from Iraq.. more like Afghanistan.
How long would such a war take probably years would we even win it?
So many questions and not a love answers.
And how are you going to get the B1 and/or B2 bombers into Iranian airspace without casualties? You don’t think they can’t shoot those planes down.
I worry that none of this has been thought out carefully enough.
Not going to happen. Iranians are rallying around the flag in the government. They are not protesting or asking for regime change because they are being attacked. That strategy will not work. We will not effectively get regime change like that.
Now, if you want to send in a half million man army to fight Iran on the ground and defeated that way that may be what you’ll have to do because bombing alone will not bring them to their knees anymore than it did the Germans or the Japanese during World War II or subsequent Small war since then
