Israel's Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter said there will be some surprises amid the Jewish State's conflict with Iran that will make Israel's explosions of pagers and walkie-talkies used by members of Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria last year look "simple."
"We've pulled off a number of surprises," Leiter said during a Tuesday appearance on the TV network Merit Street.
"When the dust settles, you're going to see some surprises on Thursday night and Friday that will make the beeper operation almost seem simple," he continued.
...
Leiter on Tuesday also posted a video message on X that was recorded outside the Situation Room in the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., where he explained that Israel was "not in the business of regime change."
...
"If the Iranian people rise up and change their regime, that's their choice," Leiter said. "And if we play a role in facilitating that eventuality, then history will judge us favorably, I believe. It's important also to emphasize that our economy remains strong and resilient despite the war, and the stock market in Israel once again, for the second day in a row, continued to rise."

I’m still betting on exploding prayer rugs.
Interesting they telegraphed the hit.
I’m sure there is a reason why.
“Interesting they telegraphed the hit.”
It’s called a “mind ****”.

Not necessarily a good thing. The more complex the plan, the more can go wrong.
LOL!!!
When Israel says, “We are not in the business of regime change,” I think they mean that while Israel is going to make regime change possible, they don’t want to taint the new regime by appearing to support it.
Yes, so it’s something they cannot prepare for and which gets worse with preparation or anticipation.
Or just making them use bandwidth thinking about.
If nothing else, it’s a psyop that will keep the Persians awake at night.

But when a more complex plan comes off perfectly, it is very intimidating to the existing Iranian leadership. It’s like Israel is saying, “You have no idea what we can accomplish. Look under your bed.”
The Israelis are inside the OODA loop.

😁
Exploding underwear would be funny.
Maybe there will be a window opened up for them to return and finish off the Mullahs.
Surely a misdirection play of some sort.

Iran is not Hamas and Iran had deals on uranium enrichment, with monitoring, with the international community. For those who have forgotten Trump ripped up the last deal Iran had because it was Obama’s deal and had nothing to replace it but threats of war to negotiate a deal.
“The Perry Expedition was a diplomatic and military expedition in two separate voyages to the Tokugawa shogunate by warships of the United States Navy. The goals of this expedition included exploration, surveying, and the establishment of diplomatic relations and negotiation of trade agreements with the various nations in the region. Opening contact with the government of Japan was considered a top priority of the expedition, and was one of the key reasons for its inception. The expedition was commanded by Commodore Matthew Calbraith Perry, under orders from President Millard Fillmore. Perry’s primary goal was to force an end to Japan’s 220-year-old policy of isolation and to open Japanese ports to American trade, through the use of gunboat diplomacy if necessary. The Perry Expedition led directly to the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the western Great Powers, and eventually to the collapse of the ruling Tokugawa shogunate and the restoration of the Emperor. “

After the US forced open trade with threats of force, Japan spent the next 80 years building their military up to respond to that insult, and next you have Pearl Harbor. You see our past actions even years before can come back to bite.
What was the book? Do you recommend it?
True. But it is better if those complex plans are not telegraphed, but a surprised. The other thing is that for ever complex plan that succeeds, some of them — and maybe most of them — fail (to some degree)
The JPOA was both useless and very expensive. I think we ended up giving Iran $150B. It was also term limited to 10 years, after which the Iranians could enrich to their heart’s content. In a nutshell, it was a an enormous bribe intended to ensure Iran held up building a nuclear bomb under Obama and Hillary’s watch (when they assumed Hillary would win).
