Any prime minister of Israel, not only Benjamin Netanyahu, would have chosen to do the same at one minute to nuclear midnight.
For Israelis, this is existential.
The Islamic Republic’s ambitions are wholly evil and Tehran’s never been shy in proclaiming it.
Make no mistake: Operation Rising Lion is the inevitable culmination of recent history since at least President Barack Obama eroded all traditional US alliances in the Middle East in favor of a dangerous fantasy that a lasting partnership with the Iranian terror regime was possible.
Obama’s betrayal began years of appeasement of Tehran, interrupted by the first Trump term but then exacerbated in the Biden years — appeasement that actually funded the regime’s growing network of terror proxies.
All the while, Iran doggedly moved ever closer to nuclear-weapons capabilities.
The mullahs doubtless ordered up Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, assault on Israel not only to stop Saudi Arabia from recognizing the state of Israel but also to provide a distraction and cover for the final sprint.
As of Thursday, Tehran had answered the International Atomic Energy Agency’s censure over its nuclear violations (the loudest IAEA alarm bell in 20 years) by announcing the activation of a new, secret third nuclear-enrichment facility — even as it kept up the stall by embracing continued negotiations with US envoys.
That’s when the Israelis moved decisively to lance the festering boil before it was too late.

The Iran appeasement is ongoing. A nuclear Iran is bad news for everyone. Except Russia and China I suppose. Check out the Shiite Twelver fundamentalist sect that governs Iran. They have a very loopy End Times scenario.
Persia has been at it for thousands of years trying to dominate the middle east and remain relevant. Why does anybody think they would stop all of a sudden?
Every bad thing that’s happened in the Mid East is the fault of Obama.
His election was the biggest and worst mistake in modern history.
Every death is on him.
So the Israelis did the right thing?
The best outcome is the collapse of that evil regime. Its been a Cancer on the world since Carter messed everything up .
More importantly, they did it in such a dominating and dramatic shown of force that it has shocked even Russia's President Putin and this shock may end up making him much more accommodating on peace negotiations in the Ukraine.
Months of uncharacteristic patience and restraint on the part of President Trump with the childish behavior of Zelensky and even Putin during the Ukraine peace negotiations has given many the wrong impression about the power Donald J. Trump wields and about his willingness to use that power.
It's now clear that Trump has been biding his time to let things play out.
Now the cold hard facts are clear to all - President Trump holds all the cards in Ukraine.
With a stroke of his pen, he can cut off US support for Ukraine and it will be over for them in a matter of months.
Zelensky's calculated attempts at intentional disrespect and equally calculated and ridiculously futile attempts to humiliate and diminish President Trump that Zelensky openly coordinated with President Trump's political and media enemies have been especially galling
On the other hand, if he chooses to intervene in the conflict, it will be a very bad day for Russia.
Israel's attacks in Iran are impressive but their capabilities cannot even begin to compare with what President Trump could unleash against Russia in the Ukraine.
The obstinate morons in both Russia and the Ukraine need to reflect on the fact that President Trump has offered both sides an off ramp from the war that leads to a remarkable win -win future for all concerned if they make peace and end the killing.
Instead of accepting Trumps generous and far sighted proposals , they continue the senseless destruction that is doing enormous damage to both sides.
Hopefully, the Israeli offensive against Iran will give both sides a much needed attitude adjustment.
Of course, they DID NOT do the right thing!
There won’t be peace in the Middle East for another however many thousand years.

I agree. Particularly the point that the Israelis have always faced annihilation from Iran since 1979. When it was possible, the Iranians would have murdered every Jew in Israel. Israel has never wanted to kill Iranian citizens, so it never posed a threat to them. That is why I seriously believe that the New Revolution will begin soon. As soon as you see Khameini leave Iran or is killed, the people will rebel and change the Government.
If Iran got nukes, they would use them to murder every single Jew in Israel. They don’t give a damn about mutually assured destruction.

This attack SHOULD have happened in 1996 or ANY YEAR since then.
It is a very sad statement indeed to see that the major Western powers all chickened out for decades BUT they did provide lip service to the Israelis that: (think of John Kerry, Wendy Sherman, Mad Albright and six of the last US Presidents and Secretary of States) “IRAN WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OBTAIN NUCLEAR WEAPONS” and of course the famously overused expression: “...all options are on the table”. What table???
It was all a sham and the Israeli Jews who know a Holocaust when they sense one, prepared for what they are doing now. The Jews of Israel knew that in the end the West would do nothing.
The lessons of 1939-1945 were NOT learned by the West. ONLY tiny Israel is expected to take out the trash as in 1981, 2007 and now.
It is a pathetic world we live in when all of Europe and North America are AFRAID to do the right thing. Absolutely pathetic.

It is astonishing, almost biblical, that Israel has been able to survive these three.
