WASHINGTON — President Trump told The Post Friday that he knew Israel would strike Iran if the theocratic regime didn’t quickly agree to a revised nuclear deal with the US.
“I always knew the date,” the president said in a brief phone interview. “Because I know everything. I know everything. I know everything.
“I gave them 60 days and they didn’t meet it,” Trump went on. “Today’s 61, you know. Today’s day 61.”
The president had never publicly revealed the 60-day deadline — though its existence had been reported by Israeli media — until after Israel launched Thursday’s attack, and had been coy on whether he fully supported giving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the green light to strike.

Some people around here are going to be deeply saddened.
Try these Trump provided apples.

This was planned before he was elected. The sixty day thing was to get Iran to negotiate, but they wouldn’t.
Friday the 13th
I’m guessing the media will be shocked. They had no idea that it was possible to keep a thing confidential.
"I was able to get something approved that, you know, that has proven to have saved a lot of lives," Trump said, ignoring Brody's request to weigh in on the anti-vaccine narrative. "Some people say that I saved 100 million lives worldwide."
Trump worked hard to bring the mullahs to the table. They were just stringing him along and were never going to give up on getting nukes.
Loose lips sink ships… or, at least, eliminate plausible deniability. Not a good idea to be totally transparent on everything… some things should be intentionally kept “murky”. Just sayin’.
It was just a few days ago that Iran flat out refused any nuclear deal. They knew the deadline too.
Idiotic to brag but he was involved. It would’ve been much smarter to pretend like America was not involved.
Trollin' trollin, trollin', keep those trolls a'comin'
RAWHIDE
Why? this is pure negotiation. Trump doesn’t even have to support the Israeli strikes; it works to his benefit if he doesn’t. He is just the guy trying to stop the inevitable. Israel is going to attack unless I’m able to get this deal done. You’ll either be in a war with Israel or you’ll sign my deal. Iran is probably too proud to admit that Israel has bested them. The regime wants to make sure if they give up they are not seen as giving up otherwise they are going to be wiped out by their own people.
This doesn’t say the U.S was involved. The scenario is more like Israel comes to him and says, “we got to attack NOW, Trump says, hold off for 60 days and let’s see if we can do this with peace. He then goes to Iran and says, sign this, do that or bad things are going to happen. Iran doesn’t sign and bad things happen. He then goes back and says, I’m telling you, just sign this or bad things are going to happen....Trump doesn’t have to stop Israel, he’s giving Iran another options. It’s up to them.
Like all politicians, I ignore what trump says, and watch what he does. That’s what changed me from a detractor to now believing he is the greatest president in our nation’s history - going by what he does.
Yep.
That is how they roll.
Eat me
He has to say certain things for negotiation reasons.
A true fool was Jimmy Carter. An air force general recounted later that in a meeting with Carter and defense people in his administration Carter said “I have just learned that the Iranians I was dealing with in negotiations don’t really want peace. They actually hate America and were lying to me.”
The general recalled: “I was shocked that someone so naive and stupid could be Commander in Chief.”
Trump is a true leader and a competent one.
If you have ever seen a magician’s show, you learn to watch the hand that is not moving.
As much as Trump loves to talk , he can still surprise me by keeping a red hot diplomatic secret when he needs to do it.
Good!
